Empanadas Chipa — Restaurant in Madrid

I’ve visited Empanada Chipa a couple of times, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite places for a quick bite. It’s a small, cozy spot with friendly, English-speaking staff, conveniently located near the bus stop and Estrecho metro station. They also have some outdoor seating, which makes it a nice option on sunny days. The coffee is good, and I especially enjoy their empanadas and the Alfajor de Maicena for dessert. Entre educadamente al local, y le digo “¿por, favor, me pones una ración de chipas y un aquarius? A lo que me dice “acaso no te enteras que hay evento, no te puedo vender aquaris, el local es pequeño… acaso no eres de Madrid (como insinuando que estorbábamos).? Le sigo diciendo que, como no me va a vender, si el local está vacío y veo que hay muchos aquarius. Sigue insistiendo que no son para mí que son para el evento ¿y cómo sabe que yo no he estado o he estado en el evento? Le sigo insistiendo que veo nestea, sprinter, ya que con la persona que iba, estaba recién operada, se lo comento, me dice “pues vino” ¿de verdad? Se reía de mí. Le digo que vino no puede y me dice “es una maleducada, si yo le digo que lo que tiene el local para usted es tónica o vino se toma lo que hay, es lo que hago yo”. A lo que le vuelvo insistir que no puede beber vino, o algo con gas. Y otra vez, me vuelve a preguntar qué de donde soy yo ¿y que le importa de dónde soy yo? Le sigo insistiendo que veo el nestea y me dice gritándome “¿dónde están que yo no los veo?” y otra vez la insistencia de donde era. Al final, me tiro una ración de chipas, fríos y con desdén, junto con el nestea y sprinter, sin vaso ni hielo. Luego entró otra pareja y si les atendió bien, ¿Qué sucedió? ¿no le gusto que no fuéramos de aquí? Yo entré amablemente, y claro que me puse borde, por el trato recibido. I stopped in for a bit of takeaway, and firstly, the gentleman from Argentina behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I recently moved to Madrid from the US and am still learning Spanish, but that was no problem, and he explained everything in English. I got the spicy chicken, cheese and onion, and traditional meat.
