This is the best vegan brunch I have ever had!

I landed in Madrid around 9:45am and got to my hotel for a quick nap before going out. Last time I came to Madrid the restaurants I went to didn't open until late in the evening and after my nap I was so hungry. I opened the happy cow app and found this place. I almost walked by it because it doesn't have a protruding sign, but luckily my GPS was spot on and buzzed at me when I walked past the door. Inside I was greeted immediately and seated without a reservation (November around 4pm on a Sunday). The menu is a QR code and the website is really beautiful. It has pictures with descriptions and allergy information. It also has videos of the dishes being prepared and plated. It's really fun! The staff all spoke English to me and I appreciate that. Although I am trying to learn Spanish and I'm only going to get better by trying to speak it - I didn't force it here. I really liked that all the food had names that referenced the Bible in different ways. I also felt very glutinous after the amount of food I ate, but it also was the only meal I ate for the whole day. I ordered the Tumeric Latte, Eggs Benedict, fries, water, and carrot cake. The turmeric latte was a little too sweet and I wonder if I had gotten a different milk if it would have been less sweet. I chose soy milk because I like the taste (usually) and nutrition. The water was bottled and tasted great. The eggs Benedict was perfect. If I didn't know it was vegan I would not have been able to tell the difference. The brioche bread was thick and soft and absorbed the "egg" and sauce. I also really liked getting the salad in my bites. Everything about it was enjoyable and tasty. I was very impressed. The fries were a perfect consistency - a little crunchy, but definitely not overdone. And they had the right amount of salt. The carrot cake was perfect and too much after all of that food. Im an autistic girl with ARFID, so eating vegan is really hard for me, the moment the texture of something is slightly off, it makes me vomit, so it's pretty high praise to say the burgers at this place (at least the not-chicken ones) are really damn good, better than your average minced chicken burger.

They're not perfect though, there was a sauce on the burger I got that was too strong, completely overpowered everything else, I couldnt even tell whether or not the vegan cheese was good because I couldnt tell it was there. It wasn't a bad flavour, so its not all that bad I guess.

Another issue ws the burgers being super tall instead of wide, it was hard to bite and annoying to hold, wide and thin burgers are ALWAYS better than tall burgers, specially for the burger patty.

The staff was polite and nice. The seating was terrible though, we had to sit on these tall stools with an even taller table that came up to my chest while sitting, my hip hurt when I got up and eating with such a high table was rather uncomfortable.

Overall though it was nice, it wasn't super pricey which is something that matters a lot, so I guess I'd recomnend it, and go back myself, but I'd reserve a seat to avoid those...

If you’re looking for a good meat or chicken sandwich, this is NOT the place for you. Or for me.

Alright cracks fingers here’s where I get my money back (I wished).

It’s a place for people who like eating junk food but don’t want to feel guilty about it. Just because it’s vegan, doesn’t mean it’s healthy. It doesn’t feel good at all. Good for the planet, maybe.

Gf ordered eggs (not real eggs) with some (again, not real) pork, wanted them without the topping sauce, but they told her the eggs couldn’t come without the hollandaise sauce as they were already prepared like that. Again, it’s a topping sauce. Just don’t top the food with the sauce. What do you mean you can’t?

Anyway, the food looked like it was made in one of those little fake kitchens they gift to young kids. The whole thing just felt like a focus group for vegan experimental food for a junk food chain.

Ordered an iced latte with almond milk (they don’t have normal milk option), couldn’t drink past one sip.
