Museo ABC is one of the best cultural institutions I have visited in Madrid! As a start, it has a fantastic new building with its striking white, angular architecture contrasting the neighbourhood buildings. Then the exhibitions in graphic arts are always well curated and perfectly installed in the various exhibition spaces of the building (the larger one under the courtyard!). Continuing with an excellent bookshop on the ground floor with a huge variety of graphic albums, comics and children's books. (Only missing the closed café that run once on the bridge-like space on the 1st floor.) ...and when you learn this is all run by a Foundation of the ABC newspaper, not the city or the state, you're happy to leave a donation instead of...

Museo ABC. ¿Te animas a vivirlos? Eva Pascual Marina Fuente integra. Eva Pascual Marina.

Not so much a museum as it is a book store. Which by itself is amazing. It is the largest selection of design books I've seen in one place. Very interesting stuff from all over the world with beautiful design. The building is also fantastic. The metal panel facade is striking and the underlit floor modules are really cool looking at night. They gate off the courtyard when it gets dark though. The museum is not exceptionally inspiring, but you should still go up to the second level to walk through...

An excellent museum in a lively neighborhood with many independent cafés, bars and restaurants. A history of the early Spanish illustrated magazine ' White and Black ', showing many covers and early cartoons in chronological order from 1901. Varied artistic illustrations showcasing the ' modern life', politics etc. Other exhibitions on more floors. We visited towards the end of the day, and could have easily spent 2 hours there, plus visiting the cafe. Recommended!

Loved the Museum and the (free!) guided tour. Wonderful to go from 1890ish all the way to 2000 in history through caricature, illustration and art… don’t miss out on visiting this place! I can confirm that very young & upwards will enjoy this colourful and fun exhibition. Most pieces are driven by action & personality of the subjects, or by the relatable situation of the historic moment they were created in.
