UPDATE/EDIT: You answer my review saying this isn't the right channel to address the problem and that you will do so internally. However, you haven't answered a single one of my emails. I am awaiting the compensation that was promised for breaking my MacBook - it has been over a month. Don't bother "sincerely apologizing for any frustration or inconvenience" - an apology isn't going to fix my laptop.

I wish I didn't have to write this, but here goes. This is directed to the owner, who seems to have been answering reviews recently. I am hoping you will see this and do the right thing.

On January 23rd 2024 I came to your cafe and sat at the large table with a friend to study. I ordered a smoothie and a coffee, as I'd done daily for nearly two weeks prior. The tall, male waiter with glasses spilt the smoothie all over the table, my laptop, and my friend. Obviously, it was entirely unintentional - I assume it slid off his tray. As I tried my best to get the smoothie out of my trackpad/keyboard, the waiter informed my Spanish-speaking friend that the Cafe had insurance to cover such things. I continued to work for the rest of the day. On January 24th 2024, I went to the Apple Store to have my laptop inspected. They found evidence of liquid damage, and quoted out the necessary repairs. I gave the quote to a manager named Irati, and informed her I'd be returning to home home country on the 28th. She told me that the insurance company needed, at minimum, a week to review the claim. Because this manager and ALL of the other staff at the cafe had been so kind to me over the past few weeks, I took her word for it and trusted that the situation would be dealt with appropriately.

Upon my return home, I followed up with the manager in question. She had given me her personal cell phone # and email for this exact purpose. After nearly a week, I'd yet to receive a response. I had my local Spanish friend call the cafe, and within 15 minutes, the manager answered my text. She stated that the insurance company had declined the claim to repair my laptop and that there was nothing else they could do. I responded, asking for details, and am now being ignored once again.

I feel as though I am being taken advantage of because they know I am from overseas. It makes no logical sense for the insurance company to decline the claim - there is ample proof of the incident - pictures, texts, emails/quotes from Apple, and witnesses. I have yet to receive the proof/reasoning of the declined claim from the manager in question. Nonetheless, even if the claim is/was denied, the cafe is still liable and must pay for the repairs THEY caused to my personal property.

I am hoping that management will do the right thing upon reading this review. They know how to reach me. I would like to say that aside from this experience, the cafe was outstanding. The food, drinks, and service were great. The waiters/waitresses are extremely friendly and efficient. I would no doubt have given it 5 stars if they'd treated me with fairness and respect in light of the...

We heard it was a good place to eat so as foreigners visiting we decided to try. Arrived there at 12:40 roughly got seated and there the drama began, the waiters seemed like they didn’t like their jobs and didn’t want to be there, the shorter waitress and shorter waiter attended to us , the waiter got the order which was two croissants with scrambled eggs plus toast and avocado. Now on a normal occasion I won’t suspect anything If The food takes a bit of time but it was unusual this time. The waitress brought one croissant which was cold and we told her we wanted two and wanted them hot, as soon as she heard that her demeanor towards us changed which was odd because all we did was just request what we ordered for. She went back to the counter where the other waiter who messed up the order was laughing. When he understood he messed the order up, I found that very strange because how inconsiderate can that be. After this we noticed there was a deliberate action not to bring our food early. Because we saw two other tables whom arrived after us did get served before us and worse finish there food, We ended up getting served at 13:25 Almost an hour after arrival and I mean it’s just breakfast but the crazy part was here. You see in the pictures, we clearly said we wanted warm croissants and not burnt. The eggs and toast were cold which means It was kept for a while,The avocado was rotten and their explanation was it was close to bone. Needless to say after waiting close to one hour for our food we lost appetite, we didn’t want to get into any fights or arguments because the whole service was poor and honestly not worth it. We ended up paying and left without eating the food. And God knows you would not pay me money to go back there. You can go there to eat but just be prepared to get into arguments if you get unlucky with the servers. We were there on the 29th of may at 10:00 My opinion is the waiters really need to be replaced or something

Best brunch in Madrid by far! Their kitchen is open all day unlike most places here so I’m a regular. It is owned by Australians and draws a very trendy international crowd. You will hear a lot of english being spoken here. Great place for food, meet for group projects, and use your laptop although they have a designated space for people with laptops at their communal table and you are not allowed to use it at their normal tables. They change their menu at 2pm from breakfast/brunch to lunch/dinner. My personal favorites are the croissant with raspberry marmelade and mascarpone, shakshuka, kangaroo burger, and the salmon over soba noodles. They have an extensive drink menu and their coffee milkshake and chai latte are top notch. Their cakes and baked goods are amazinggg. If you want water there is a designated corner with a pitcher and cups that you have to get yourself. They serve brunch every day so it’s better to go during the week if possible because if you go over the weekends there is always a line out the door although it seems to move fairly quickly. When the weather is nice you can actually sit on a cushion inside the windowsill with one leg inside and the other one outside with a mini table (good for two people). Plus they have outdoor seating in a cute plaza. They have a second location in the city center closer to Sol but this location is better. Highly...

Came here to study and eat with my friends If you want to use your laptop, you can sit at the big table and at the window bar and I saw at the window bar - really nice and natural light I was sitting there for long so ordered several dishes “Winter salad” (rice dish) - loved it. Asked to get it either ricotta, they forgot, so idk if the ricotta is adding a lot (otherwise- good vegan selection) Then later I ordered the tagliatelle pasta, from the English menu it was confusing as I thought it comes with chicken. Plain pasta with pesto, some arugula leaves and LOTS OF OIL. Was not worth the 9 euros at all. Was really disappointing. On top of that, the service if you sit at the window is terrible. I had to walk to them to ask for things or remind them to bring things they forgot.. I hope it’s better when you are seated Christmas is soon so they had Christmas music which I personally found annoying but that’s only my taste Looks like they are better for breakfast.
