It has became a regular stop since the school of my son is nearby. It's a very cosy place and the ambiance can change a lot. It can be super crowded or super silent with almost no one. I recommend to book as they have too much demand. I usually take away also for a beverage.
The quality depends of the products as for the cakes. There are some delicious ones like the mini muffins, the bailey's cake or their white chocolate cake and other more average I didn't really enjoyed. The quality of the tea is pretty nice (ex : Salon des fleurs tea) and better than the one served in Madrid. It's a true tea they serve and not the industrial version with no taste. Their chocolate a la taza is wonderdul. I recommend it completely ! Their breakfast in its simplest version is a good value, especially eating in this décor ! The prices are correct and the food is homemade. It's getting rare now in Madrid to have this quality for the range of prices proposed.
There seems to be a lot of tourists and it's nice to see it has become very popular. Unfortunately also sometimes people doesn't respect others as well (ex : talking very loud in English for ex when the locals speak with a medium tone) or taking photos with customers on it without asking permission and diffuse these photos on Google or the social media without any content. I was photographed by five tourists one morning during an online meeting and I felt very awkward after they smile at me like it's normal and they can do it without my consent... Maybe it would be best to not authorize the photographs of the entire view while customers seat and eat. At least to respect the...
Read moreThis coffee / tea shop became my first and favorite destination in Madrid from now on. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I entered this place. It is breathtaking it filled my heart with so much love. Amazing vintage decoration, Amazing service, very kind employees. You have to reach this coffee shop by taxi because it wasn’t near to the center, But it’s Worth it. The menu is weekly renewable, the place is very artistic and cozy feels exactly like home. it’s very calming. The sandwiches are small enough for one person (singular), but it’s really tasty exactly like homemade food. The hot chocolate is amazing. It’s a great café for afternoon tea and snacks (merienda). I certainly love the interior and the display items, the wallpaper the sofas and the windows. The music is really calm and relaxing. The branding is wonderful it shows that they really care about the smallest details. By the way you have to try out the cheesecake it’s one of the best cheesecakes I have eaten in my life. I’m very grateful to...
Read moreThe definition of the word overrated. Because of the good reviews, I decided to make a reservation here as it seemed nice. But not only were we welcomed with unprofessional, bad service but also a table full of dirty dishes right by the toilet door with an unbearable smell. Despite some other tables being free, we were told that we simply were allocated this table and we have to stay where we were seated. So we did and waited for about 20 mins to get the table cleaned. The waitress instead of coming to take that away came and moved our personal belongings we had on one of the chairs, even though, there was no reason whatsoever for that. The coffee was priced doble than usual but was just about the same quality as in a casual spanish taberna, if not worse. The last drop was that we were given a piece of cake for 4,50 euros with a hair on it. Therefore, the only plus I can really agree on is the pretty decoration, but that's about it. Don't waste your money and time and visit any other...
