The Cookie Lab — Restaurant in Madrid

I was looking for a good American Bakery where I could have my beloved cinnamon roll and a classic American cookie. One day I was walking down "Serrano Street" and I saw this place which seemed clean, fresh and new. I went inside and the waitresses attending there were very friendly and welcoming, they were both Spanish but still friendly and both loved American treats. I found out that this place had only just been opened and started up a week ago from my visit and that explained why the place was slightly underfurnished. In the end I took a peanut butter and chocolate cookie and I have got to say that it was hands down the best cookie I have ever had and the bang for the buck was insane. The Cookie cost me 2 euros but it was HUGE. In the middle of my ritual one of the waitresses asked my if I wanted to try their still-in-progress chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, obviously I couldn't turn down an opportunity for a free sample, when I said yes I was expecting to get a little chunk but the waitress gave me 2 SLICES!!! These cookies are massive, when you face them, do not show fear or they may just end-up eating you instead.

I have mixed feelings. We ordered 23 packs for a virtual work meeting. 21 attendees received it the day before as planned. 1 attendee received it 10 minutes before the meeting and the last one received it 2 hours too late...and you pay for the deliveries.

Inside my box the notice explaining that you have to put the cookies 10 minutes in the oven was missing...so I ate my first cookie dry and like dust. But then once you are told you have to cook them a bit, they are delicious.

We have been coming since they first opened. It is sad that the quality and the service is not the same. We had a reeses and a chocolate cookie, they were average. We wanted carrot cake, cinammon roll and pulled pork bagel, but they did not have any left. The tables inside and outside were dirty and the staff did not seem to care at all.

It is very dissapointing indeed! We won't be...
