Yiyaki Sushi — Restaurant in Madrid

Bland sushi, sorry. I don’t speak the language and for some reason Google Translate refused to translate the menu website. I got salmon fantasy and it felt like I was eating deep fried sushi. The atmosphere was weird. There were lots of Buddha statues, there was a drawing of Angelina Jolie on the wall, for some reason the TV was showing Spanish coasts (?), “In my mind, in my head”s chill remix was playing, etc. I am not much of a “cultural appropriation” guy, and I am not Japanese obviously; but the entire atmosphere was just, confusing… Service was great though. The waitress was very patient and understanding of the language barrier, and she was always smiling. Still, I want to recommend, but I shouldn’t. Needs some...

Sushi was bland and similar quality to grocery store sushi. I really tried to like it but was very disappointed with its flavor and construction (poorly packed rolls that fell apart far too easily). The drink I purchased “the partay”, or something like that, was overly sweet and lacked any character. The menu indicated that it would be a spicy cocktail, but it was primarily sugar topped with cotton candy (see picture). There are much better sushi options in the area - my personal favorite being Yiyaki Sushi - which is in a different league compared...

Absolutely delicious!!! A hole in the wall that will surprise you with excellent and delicate sushi. 😋 Service is amazing and it's a very cozy place. If we visit Madrid again, we would try it. Thank you for the memories.

P.S. it's located in a very remote area, and so disregard any presumptions and really experience the best, authentic, menu. You will be surprised...
