We visited the restaurant as two couples after hearing many glowing recommendations — and fortunately, it truly lived up to all of them and more.

First, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and fluent in English. They approached us promptly, and the ordering process was smooth and efficient.

Second — and most importantly — the food: this was truly one of the best Japanese dining experiences one could ask for. It was a 16-course tasting menu, with each dish executed to the highest standard imaginable. Some dishes were simply sublime, and even the ones we liked less were still excellent by any measure.

Personally, we didn’t love the restaurant’s interior design — but that’s a matter of taste. We understand the Japanese “bunker” aesthetic they were aiming for, but it didn’t resonate with us. Still, it didn’t detract from the meal in any way.

To us, it felt like an elegant, curated experience in a space where every detail — from the food to the service — was handled with care and precision.

We highly recommend this restaurant and would return...

Very disappointing experience for a Michelin star restaurant. Folks at the Michelin guide were asleep at the wheel on this one. The Sushi were a far cry from being quality. They were cut by amateur chefs with different thickness, shapes, and the rice was not formed properly. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the taste was actually good. The mix of ingredients and flavors were tops, just not prepared to standard quality. The service was friendly but clearly not properly trained. After we were seated the waitress opened a bottle of still water poured our glasses without even asking if we wanted still or sparkling. (I prefer sparkling thank you very much, not sure what you plan to do with that bottle of still). The price for the quality and quantity of food was a total rip off. After spending EUR 340 on the meal my wife and I had to hit up the ramen restaurant around the corner for a second meal to...

It was the worst Michelin starred restaurant experience I have ever had. I felt so insulted, i left extremely upset. Such a disaster, i can't even believe the positive reviews are real. They made a huge mistake (it would be a long story), but that's not even the point. Everything was below average: -the communication (to book the table, special requests, etc...) -the food (wagyu beef from Spain, just a joke) -the staff/service -the prices -the place (old, cheesy decor, not even really clean) -and even the toilets... Avoid at all costs!!!! I'm going to work hard to make sure they lose the Michelin star they have.

PS: I used to live in Japan, and this place does not match Japanese standards! And the "bunker / members only" thing is such a nonsense....

Yugo The Bunker is an absolutely breathtaking culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the passion and dedication that goes into every detail—especially the food. Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor, creativity, and precision. The attention to detail and the harmony of textures and flavors make for an unforgettable dining experience. Every bite tells a story, showcasing the highest quality ingredients and the chef’s deep respect for Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere only elevates the experience, transporting you into a world where tradition meets innovation. I would return in a heartbeat whenever I’m in Madrid again. If you’re looking for an extraordinary gastronomic journey, Yugo The Bunker is an absolute must.

Quality of food is excellent. Really fresh sashimi. I was especially wowed by the Japanese Scallop Nigiri with Toasted Kizami Wasabi Butter. However we were EXTREMELY disappointed that we were charged €4.50 for a small cup of green tea, which we expected to be free flow, but alas when the bill came, we were charged for 6 cups! Any self-respecting Japanese restaurant would offer free flow of green tea when you order and pay for 1 portion, if it was not already given for free to all customers. We are already paying a lot for the meal, what is a few cups of green tea to the restaurant? Again, extremely disappointed and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
