Terrible service!! I arrived before my friends and they told me that I could sit at a table only if I had the full party. I told them I would have to wait for a friend who would show up a bit later. They said I could take pictures of the menu and have her order from the pictures… already weird they want me to send pics to rush my friend’s order who was trying to find parking in the center of Madrid. My other friend who arrived shortly after me said it wasn’t possible to contact the girl parking and that we would order some drinks and appetizers while we waited for the last person in our party. They finally came over after about 30 mins and told us that we needed to order right then our we would loose the table. I might have understood if the restaurant was as full with a line around the block, but there were still free tables…So right after we ordered our friend showed up literally a minute later. The waiter gave her a death stare and pressured her to order NOW. If the service couldn’t have been worse, right when we finished eating they asked us if we were done and then immediately brought the check and expected payment. Everything was so rushed and when we said we wanted to split the bill, they said we could only spilt it three ways equally which was a pain because we owed different amounts and then had to bizum etc. After that the waiter came back with change for my friends 50€ bill and gave more than 12€ in change and then skimped her of more than 4€. When it was pointed out there was not even an apology. From start to finish we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome....

Good things first: a good way to drop by is to book a table via the app The Fork in advance (at least some hours earlier, but maybe, depending on the availability and time of the year, it’ll be better if you can book it on the previous day). We got 50% discount for a table for 2 at 12:30pm.
Unfortunately, there was a very poor point: a matter of honesty. Piece of advice: ⚠️ Don’t pay the bill as soon as it arrives⚠️ Take 1-2 minutes to double check what they’re charging you! In our case, we had to rush a little from the restaurant to an appointment, so we trusted them. Definitely don’t! I tell you why: later on, on the same afternoon, we found out there was a difference between the prices shown on the menu (we took pics of the menu to post them in here) and the higher prices they charged us on the bill. For example: the desert mochi was 3,50€ each on the menu, but on the bill it was 4,50€. And more: we asked 3, but they “forgot” to apply the 50% discount to 1 of them on purpose.
At the end of the day, it’s not worth it if you have to pay full price! Maybe, I’ll get back here one day this year, but we’re going to be very aware of double checking everything they’re charging us...
Read moreIt was 5°C in Madrid, I was looking for something tasty to warm up my belly right off the plane from 25°C Tenerife and passed right in front of this place.
It's on a very busy Street full of all sorts of restaurants. I was looking for a large bowl of ramen and passed by the other noodle joints that look okay but Ramen Shifu - Atocha just looked right,
The lights were a bit subdued, not harsh and very welcoming and the atmosphere felt "real", not at all part of a commercial chain, although I believe it actually is.
Once inside all the place was almost full a waiter took me to a table for two without reservations, in no time at all.
The place is quite cozy, and you can have a conversation with the party in front of you with ease.
The restaurant service is very nice and super fast, it's one of those places you want to leave a tip every time you visit.
I had roasted duck ramen and my partner had beef ramen. Both were very tasty, it did not feel oily or over condimented at all, and each large bowl was a little over 13 Euros.
Start tuned, I'm coming again in a couple of days cuz I won't try a lot more things!
This is the perfect place to warm up in Madrid's winter, when you don't want to go straight into Castilian classics like...
