Kinnaree — Restaurant in Manilva

This has to be the best Thai/Chinese fusion place around. Mid level at the Duquesa Port, it has a large comfortable inside dining area for the winter and a lovely outside terrace for summer, overlooking the lower level and the boats. We have been a few times now over the years and have never had a bad meal. I'm not keen on Chinese food per se, so this is great for me when my friends specifically want to eat Chinese. The staff too have always been friendly. There is a great value set menu of €17pp for a choice of starter and main, including a bowl of rice (just normal white) and the choices for each are good. The sizzling duck in sauce was by far the best meal I've had in a while. Note that a lot of the dishes have mushrooms in them but as a mushroom hater 🤢 they are large sliced rather than diced and are easy...

After a really bad experience with a Thai restaurant in Estepona, I decided to try this restaurant, which has got some good reviews.

I was here alone. The soup, Tom Kha Gai was not bad, tasteful (but can be better). For the main course I had "duck on a sizzling hot plate" and Pad Thai. Both dishes were ruined. The sauce on the duck had a strange flavour and was incredibly salty (not something I complain about easily) and in the Pad Thai had far too much peanut.

The staff is very friendly, I have to say.

In short, I was disappointed and expected a lot better. Been in Thailand quite a few times and a regular visitor of good Thai restaurants in Rotterdam. Makes me wonder if people writing positive reviews actually know what Thai food...

Surprisingly they offer quite a lot of vegan options which are very tasty and very reasonably priced!

Inside the huge menu there's a vegetation section in which almost all dishes are either vegan or can be made vegan.
