The Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Manilva

Definitely two strikes and you are out. Our first visit the food and service was poor, but as it was an extremely busy night we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Wrong move! That a chef knowingly, barefaced, turns the MOST burnt side of the quesadillas downwards and still serves them says just how much they care about customers. We ordered the combo platter to start. Upon request they replaced the burnt quesadillas, but there is no denying the onion rings, potato skins, cheese poppers and bacon wrapped dates are all frozen food. If a chef can't slice and flour a fresh onion ring....!! Main courses of mixed grill and salmon - Dry as a bone, refried chips, bullet rice. We ate most, not all, because we were hungry and knew any replacement would be no better. Our waitress gave no hearty welcome not even a cursory hello, but just fired out the word "Spanish"! Unsure if it was a question, a statement or an accusation, I responded "Japanese". With side-eye she swapped the English menus out for Spanish. A second waitress was slightly more affable, but they clearly don't communicate with each other, because she also addressed us in English. A sad hypothesis - they are accustomed to English speaking clientele only, presume they are all tourists, so have no interest in cultivating a regular, satisfied, client base. We went elsewhere...

Went a second time in a wk, first time was bad but kids liked the burgers and asked could we go back,

Waited 40 minutes for our starter of loaded nachos, reason for this was the waitress walked past us with our starter to a table that were already on there main course.

Oblivious they thought it was complimentary and thought this was great

We waited another 20 minutes more with empty glasses before anyone approached us, when they did and when I explained that we wanted our food I could see they seen they had made an error, when our starter eventually did arrive the manager said sorry for the mistake but staff thought we wanted starter and main together, So obvious that our main course was sitting ready and when it arrived, omg it was awful, tried out burrito, rock hard burger buns, the reason for this is because they were sitting for so long because they could not get the simple stuff correct

Overpriced food Terrible service I will never ever ever be in this awful...

One of our party is vegan and asked for vegan options at the door to which they got a puzzled look. When the manager came they had to be explained as to what vegan is and were reassured that several dishes could be vegan. Our party member ordered the veggie chili and reminded the server to not include dairy or eggs. The host said that was fine and there would be no cheese or sour cream. The dish arrived and after a few bites our member asked whether the meat-like texture was soya or another plant. They were told it was beef! After all that effort! To make matters worse when the dish was sent back they got a crap alternative which was boiled vegetables with tomato sauce and the restaurant still charged for the dish.

On top of this the corn on the cob was lathered in butter despite not mentioning any dairy on the menu.
