⭐⭐☆☆☆ China Crown Marbella: Crowned in style, dethroned by the food.
We were drawn in by the promise of elevated Chinese dining in a gorgeous setting. The ambiance and service were indeed top-tier elegant décor, warm lighting, attentive staff. But at nearly €170 for three people, the food didn’t just fall short, it missed the mark entirely.
The dim sum sampler (€18) had beautiful texture but was lacking in flavor. For the price, we expected layers of complexity, not bland fillings.
🦆 The Imperial Peking Duck (€69 for half) was the showpiece and what a disappointment it was. Dry meat, no depth of flavor, and an oddly chewy finish. The hoisin saved it, and the pancakes were the only redeeming element. The quince jam twist was creative but couldn’t rescue the dish. Also I witnessed the carver monstrously chop the duck and cover the rough chop with the fine slices.
The lemon chicken (€24) was aggressively sour and soggy, a sharp contrast to the crisp, bright dish it should’ve been.
And then there’s the jasmine rice. €7 for one bowl. One single small Bowl. Ludicrous.
Add to that a €15 “cubierto” charge for 3 people for a single shared bowl of seasoned wonton crisps, and the value starts to feel borderline insulting.
The staff were wonderful and the space exuded class, but when the food costs this much, flavor and execution have to match the price tag.

Read moreUnfortunately it was terrible experience! A few months ago we had very good experience in Madrid and expect to have the same in Marbella. Little bit of details: we ordered one wine, but they confused and bring other we ask to bring the duck after starters, but they start with fish which we asked to remove and follow our request was ordered 3 main dishes of which 2 they confused. And they called pork - shrimp! And my friend had first piece of meat for her last 20 years… and don’t forget about fish! They bring but it was already dry because it waiting for it waited her time under the heating lamp
In the end they took one bottle of wine in the house, but it doesn’t clean our filings about service, about reactions for their mistakes in work, first sorry we heard from manager, 2 waiters spoke to us and they just shook their shoulders, without a single word “sorry, we'll fix it now”

Read moreWe visited China Crown in Marbella 9th of September, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. We’d already been in China Crown in Madrid before and loved it, so when we found out they opened here in Marbella, we couldn’t miss the chance to try it. The food was perfect, simply outstanding. For starters, we had a dumpling assortment, crispy lobster, and shiitake mushrooms -everything was very tasty. But the highlight, without any doubt, was the Imperial Peking Duck-truly exceptional, probably the best we’ve ever had. The service was excellent, very attentive and warm, the staff was super, and the kitchen was just perfect. Everything felt on the highest level! What makes China Crown Marbella special, though -is a fantastic sea view, sitting by the sea while enjoying the most delicious food. Now China Crown has definitely become one of our favorite restaurants, and we’ll be coming back...
