We had high expectations for a good experience. However, the food and service were extremely disappointing. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't too busy, mainly filled with hotel residents. The decor was nice, and we were seated at a table. We ordered cocktails, which were served quickly. We then ordered food and wine. The waiter went through the special fish menu, and we decided to have the Turbot for two. The wine was served immediately, so we had to stop the waiter from pouring. He was too eager and didn't notice we had cocktails. We started with Seabass Ceviche with Sea Urchin. Although we'll prepared there was no Sea Urgin! When the Turbot came, it was very small, maybe enough for one person. It was poorly filleted, and the waiter was in a rush. Sides of mashed potato, roasted veg, and some sort of garlic sauce were served. The potato was inedible, it was like glue, along with the other sauce, which was tasteless. We were asked if the fish was good, we said okay, but before we could explain, he ran off. When our dishes were cleared, we complained to a waitress and showed her the potato. My partner could see her explaining our complaint to the manager, and he just walked away. We were asked if we wanted desert but said we didn't and asked for the bill. When the bill came, we could see we were charged for two aperitifs, which we did not have. We complained again about the meal but nothing else was taken off the bill. This was nowhere near the standard of a Michelin guide restaurant in food quality...
Read moreTerrible service! A real disappointment for a restaurant like that. We have been to many other restaurants in the area and service has been great. So being August is not an excuse! When we arrived, there were many empty tables, but a big table of about 15. The waiter seemed to be just tending to that one table. We were made to wait 30 mins and had to ask for someone to take our order. We decided not to order starters, as we knew they would take forever between starters and mains. So we just ordered black Angus, a burger and sides. When the food finally came after another half hour, the steak, burger and sides were all very good. The peppers were a disappointment, as we were expecting the caramelised ones and they were just roasted, might as well have been straight from a jar. They forgot 2 starters and charged us for them in the bill, which I had to point out and ask to correct. They gifted us a starter, but nobody explained what it was or why, the waiter just banged it on our table without a word. Not once did anyone come to ask how was the food. Nobody asked if we needed more drinks. The bread dish wasn’t refilled. The staff seemed to be overwhelmed and stressed, not a nice atmosphere for a client. The food was spoiled by the waiting and bad service. Definitely not worth the price. Many more better restaurants in the area that are happy to have you and treat you accordingly. Will not be coming back or recommending...
Read moreReview of Erre Urrechu – A Disappointing Michelin Experience Having high expectations for a Michelin-recommended restaurant, we were eager to dine at Erre Urrechu. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of what one would anticipate from such an establishment. Upon arrival, we were left waiting for an unreasonably long time before anyone even acknowledged us. When we were finally shown to our table, the service remained disorganized throughout the evening. The staff seemed to be rushing around in a chaotic manner, and we had to repeatedly request menus, including the wine list, instead of being presented with them in a timely fashion. This was particularly surprising given that the dining room was only half full. The food, which should be the highlight of any Michelin-recognized restaurant, was another letdown. The dishes lacked cohesion, with unbalanced and somewhat confusing accompaniments that failed to elevate the main ingredients. It was far from the refined and well-executed cuisine one expects at this level. While the restaurant boasts a beautiful setting, ambiance alone is not enough to justify a Michelin recommendation. With such inconsistent service and underwhelming food, I am left questioning how Erre Urrechu has earned its place on...
