The food is labelled wrongly. I am a coeliac and was served the ‘ satay chicken’ which was gluten free. When it came out it was teriyaki sauce and not satay which is NOT gf. We called the waiter over and they said it was teriyaki sauce. Obviously I kicked off and demanded a refund and the staff couldn’t care less. Even though it was only a bite I took I just hope they take the consequences seriously as I’ve been Ill due to this and the careless staff don’t understand how serious allergies are when I very clearly explained. They also told me they don’t cater gf despite me eating there the previous day and having the grilled squid and being absolutely fine. This place is going down hill. So we sat down after a coastal walk, we were dry and thought this place was a typical beach tourist trap but we couldn’t go wrong just getting drinks. Our server said no worries, but while we are getting your drinks please have a look at the beach grill menu (as the beach wood fired bbq was just setting up). We said sure thinking no chance. The biggest selling points of La Lonja are its location right on Cabopino beach and the musical entertainment on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The entertainment features a talented Cuban singer that fills the outdoor area with rhythm and dancing. The food menu is large including fish, meat and rice dishes. The swordfish (€13.00) was fresh and perfectly cooked. The dessert selection is a variety of cheesecakes that comes in large portions. The service is cordial and friendly but do not expect a quick turnaround. The outdoor area is large sitting close to 50 people, while the interior sitting about 60 people.
