Zozoï — Restaurant in Marbella

I don’t usually leave reviews unless something is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Sadly, this is the latter. We came to Zoizoi for what was meant to be a celebratory evening, but the experience left us thoroughly disappointed. I hate having to write this as this was once a real favourite spot for us.

We’ve been coming here for over 20 years and used to truly enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. But based on our most recent visit, we won’t be rushing back.

Zoizoi is an expensive restaurant, yet it appears they’ve chosen to cut corners where it matters most: staffing. In a country known for excellent service, it was surprising—and frankly disheartening—to encounter such an unprofessional team. Most of the staff appeared very young and completely untrained, and the service we received reflected that. The only exception was a sandy-haired young man in a white shirt who stood out for being competent, helpful, and polite. Unfortunately, the rest—including the hostess—fell far short of even basic expectations. We weren’t the only ones to notice; we observed several other tables also expressing dissatisfaction.

We remained polite and patient throughout, despite multiple issues. Our primary waiter was particularly dismissive and arrogant. It took six requests—across five different staff members—just to get ice. It was, unsurprisingly, the one professional waiter who eventually brought it, along with an apology, even though it wasn’t his table.

We had a similar problem with water. We waited over 20 minutes and asked six times. On the sixth request, our waiter, who had been loitering and laughing with another staff member, snapped “yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s coming,” as though we were inconveniencing him. It felt like asking my teenager to tidy their room.

The dessert glass actually cracked while on the table, and instead of an apology or any concern for safety, the hostess insisted it must have been our fault. No effort was made to refill our wine glasses throughout the meal—again, something we’re happy to do ourselves—except, ironically, when a staff member saw us reaching for the bottle and rushed over just in time to pour the last glass. That same energy would have been better used bringing the ice or water we'd repeatedly requested.

As for the food: a mixed bag. The Thai-style mussels and the Iberian pork ribs were both excellent. But the king crab salad—at nearly €40—was a real letdown: scant crab, soggy lettuce, and very poor value.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at ZoZoi in Marbella and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The service provided by our server, Ikram, and also Celine, was truly outstanding. They paid undivided attention to our needs and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

The food at ZoZoi was absolutely flawless. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal was evident, from the fresh ingredients to the exquisite presentation. Every bite was a delight to the senses.

I cannot praise Ikram and Celine enough for their impeccable service. They anticipated our needs, recommended the perfect dishes, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Their professionalism and friendliness added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

Overall, my experience at ZoZoi was truly exceptional. The combination of impeccable service from Ikram and Celine, along with the flawless food, made for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend ZoZoi to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience...

The food is so good at Zoi Zoi. The cocktails list is really great, tried a few cocktails and they were really amazing. They came in a bag with Casa lime and ginger really nice. Also the purple cocktail I can’t think what it’s called with violets was absolutely amazing.

The starters for 2 is an amazing dish. You have a variety of different tappers from the main menu. All of which were absolutely stunning a really really great choice.
