The Castillo de Marbella, also known as the Marbella Castle, is a historical fortress located in the heart of Marbella, Spain. It dates back to the 10th and 11th centuries during the Muslim rule of the region and was built as part of the town’s defensive structure. Today, the castle remains an important cultural landmark, though much of it is in ruins, with sections of the original walls and towers still visible. La muralla contenía en su interior la antigua medina árabe, que hoy se corresponde con el casco antiguo de la ciudad. Desde la misma plazuela de la Iglesia, puede verse una de las torres del que fuera un poderoso castillo musulmán (siglo XI) junto a parte de la muralla que rodeaba la ciudad, que en conjunto llegaron a ocupar unos 90.000 metros cuadrados de superficie. Entre sus torres destaca la Torre de la Polvora. El acceso al interior de la fortificación era posible a través de tres puertas; la Puerta de Ronda, la Puerta de Málaga y la Puerta del Mar.
