During my recent holiday in Malaga, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at El Olivo, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the impeccable service and the welcoming atmosphere set the stage for what would be a memorable meal.
The staff at El Olivo went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. They were attentive without being intrusive, offering insightful recommendations that truly enhanced our dining experience. The warmth and professionalism displayed by the team made us feel like cherished guests, adding a personal touch that is rare to find.
But the true star of the evening was the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing a perfect blend of traditional flavors and modern culinary techniques. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the presentation was simply stunning.
The tapas were a delightful start, with the patatas bravas and gambas al ajillo standing out as particular highlights. The main courses were equally impressive. The paella was cooked to perfection, rich and flavorful, while the grilled seafood platter was fresh, succulent, and perfectly seasoned.
For dessert, the churros with chocolate sauce were a decadent finale to an already outstanding meal. Every course was a testament to the chef's skill and passion for creating an unforgettable dining experience.
In conclusion, El Olivo is a gem in Malaga that should not be missed. The combination of exquisite food, outstanding service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone in the area. I can't wait to return on my next...
Read moreWell a restaurant of two halves! The food was fabulous. My onion soup starter was great, my 700g TBone was fantastic the jacket potato that came with the other end of the spectrum and on the menu it was not described as a jacket potato. My wife's starter of goats cheese was beautiful and her pork medallions were the best. Now for the service! It took forever to get served, it seemed that all the staff had individual jobs. After 15 minutes of waiting we got a drink, mind you this was the only drink we managed to get in an hour and a half of being there. The waiter who brought the menus rattled off so many things it was hard to keep up, what I do remember was we don't have this or that or this! After the waiter went we sat for another 15+minutes, eventually I got the attention of a waiter but he could not take my order as that was not his job! But he would find someone. Order placed, first course arrived dumped on the table with no offer to get more drinks. Plates taken away, no was everything ok can I get more drinks. Main course arrived looks did not deceive it was great, still no drinks to wash it down and no one returning asking how is your meal. By this time it was get the bill and get out. The food was worth every penny the dining...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant based on previous reviews. We were disappointed by the whole experience. It is an exceptionally large restaurant with staff that were not organised. After being shown to our seat, the drinks menu arrived promptly, and we got our wine. We got the food menus and then sat for 20 minutes, and I eventually asked could someone take our order. Another wait but eventually someone arrived. The warm bread arrived but no sign of the deep fried camimbert. It did eventually arrived it was stone cold. We had to wait another 90 minutes for our mains suckungly pig and beef stroganoff. These dishes arrived only after we said we were leaving. People who arrived after us had been served. The mains were ok but again not very warm. All in all the most expensive meal we had over 75 euros with shockingly poor service. This restaurant is too big for the amount of people serving, many looked hassled and were rushing about confusingly trying to figure which table had ordered what meal. There are much smaller cheaper restaurants to visit with good service...
