Panda Ocean Club — Restaurant in Mogán

I rarely review restaurants but this was very ”special”.

First impression good: friendly and helpful staff.

Then it went south. We ordered a ribeye and a burger, fish sticks for the kids. When ordering, I heard the waiter saying something to the chief waiter who responded something with ”pollo”, and he went on with putting our order in.

Then comes the food. The burger arrives along with ribs (not ribeye). Ok, mistakes can happen we thought. But then it takes around 15 minutes for the ribeye to arrive, meanwhile the kids fish fingers also hadn’t appeared. So, when the food came in with 10 minutes apart form each dish and lo and behold, the fish fingers tasted and felt like chicken. When asked about this, the waiter repeatedly said it was fish until i told him I overheard his boss saying ”pollo” during the ordering. I mean, at least admit to what we’re eating for christ sake. Also, this should be vital when it comes to people with allergies. Also, what in the name of potato is this restaurant doing with their french fries?

Then comes another surpise to this wrecking ball of a dinner. They’ve added side dishes and extra drinks to the tab whilst saying ”this should be in order”.

Yeah right, if you by ”in order” mean something like Sarajevo in 1994, then yes.

I mean, I get that it’s a tourist island, but it cannot be this bad, right? If you don’t perform nowhere near expectations, at least have the decency to remove something from the tab, not add things!

Came across Panda Ocean Club when exploring the beach area. Thought it looked lovely and returned later on in the evening for food. Was a little apprehensive at first, as it’s just recently opened and there wasn’t many reviews. So glad we took the plunge. The food and wine were delicious and the service was fantastic. I’m gluten free and although the menu doesn’t state gluten free food the staff were very attentive to my needs. When it came to dessert there were no gluten free options on the menu. I asked if they could do me some ice cream and fruit. Next minute the chef came out to speak to me and offered to make me Banana Flambé, which wasn’t on the menu and then served it to me. It was very yummy! First class service with a beautiful view!! Hoping to return before the end of our holiday and catch the sunset...

We visited Panda Ocean Club at the marina in Playa de Puerto Rico on our last day, after being gently encouraged to try it all week — and we’re glad we finally did!

We were greeted warmly and found the atmosphere really calm and relaxing. The staff were friendly and found us a lovely shaded table, which was much appreciated in the midday sun.

My iced coffee was excellent — really refreshing and well made. However, the boys ordered soft drinks which unfortunately weren’t chilled or cold from the fridge, which was a bit disappointing given the heat.

Toilet facilities were clean and well maintained, which is always a bonus when stopping in for drinks.

Overall, a nice spot to unwind with relaxing service and a great view (a premium position on the Harbour) — just a shame the cold drinks weren’t...
