I have returned to Valentino´s last thirty years and the food has always been impeccable. I have sometimes experienced their sharp tongue before, but I have always thought its simply differences in culture. Yesterday's visit to the restaurant was not of the best experience I have had, and mostly because of the owner´s attitude and his stupid comments. I have always been fond of the Valentino Special Salad with beef and walnuts, and yesterday I was obviously so stupid so I asked if he could ask the chef if he could add some blue cheese in it. First he pretended not to understand my question and second when he had laughed about it, he said, "of course we dont have any roquefor in the kitchen" I politely pointed towards the supermarket 30m aside and said "well, here is bluecheese next door, if you ever want to consider to meet your customers wishes", he ignored me and rolled his eyes when he left. He was rude and insolent, tried to make me feel stuipid, and the situation ended up in me not wishing to eat there at all, but I had already moved my friends from another place, so I just ordered French Onion soup at €7.50 - and I got a children portion...8 tablespoons of broth and a mini slice of bread in the bowl. We had to ask for service at every event of the meal and it felt like the owner intended to ignore us, as he left to a young girl to serve us after the small scene, and she already had all her tables full. Prices are pointing upward towards the skies, like all other restaurants, but value for money is pointing downward. Valentinos has fallen into the tourist-pit where the overworked owners barking at their guests...I won´t return...
Read moreIf I have to be honest, this is probably the worst food I have ever had the chance to taste ever, and I'm not even exaggerating. It seems like everything was deliberately bad. The escallop was awful. It was thin and had a hideous taste. The pepper sauce didn't even taste like pepper at all. The sauce was more like chocolate sauce. The potatoes were visibly were ultraprocesed. The only good thing about the food was the little salad that came with it, but it's not worth the money that the whole food costs. And I'm pretty sure that the owner is deleting this comment, because if this was my experience (like it was bad on every single way purposedly) I can't believe this hasn't been somebody else's and I don't get where all the good rating is coming from. I asked for more food and the experience was also deeply disappointing. A home made sandwich would have tasted much better than any dish I solicited that day. And it was terribly expensive. I don't know if the owner is aware, but this is certainly the state...
Read moreBeen here twice. First time service was alright and food was ok and average prices dinner two adults and two kids 50 euros. 2nd visit was a totally different experience was 9pm and I think they were a little busy. At first we were totally ignored then one of the waiters came and placed a reserved sign on the table, that we sat at but did not speak to us, so we got up and left. I think it is mainly run by Germans who do not know how to speak to someone if they are busy. Like sorry we are too busy would of been a more pleasant experience like they do in most customer service places. I would of recommended this restaurant on our 1st experience but after the our return visit it gets...
