Aurora Restaurante — Restaurant in Mojácar

Service was friendly but a bit chaotic. We had the feeling that we visited on a day - Easter weekend Saturday - where the B team was on duty. The drinks we ordered came quicky but the meals arrived 50 minutes later. The bread we ordered came, after asking repeatedly, frozen in the middle. After telling the waitress we waited another 10 minutes for some unfrozen bread to land on the table. When we got the bill we noticed that we were also charged for the inedible frozen bread - they changed this and apologized but it highlighted the amateurish nature of the service.

To top things off the men's toilet was flooded - I won't describe how it looked as that would be TMI - but having worked a while ago in the service industry I can't over emphasize how important it is to keep an eye on the state of hygiene in the facilities - nothing reflects more on the quality of a restaurant than the disgusting sight of a blocked flooded toilet. Dirty toilet, dirty kitchen?

Having said all that, most of the time everything was ok, friendly and attentive which makes me think we just came...

We thought we'd try our luck as we didn't have a booking, party of 5 very mixed ages, so the menu seemed suitable. Happy with the table, and service to this point. Food good, but service a bit off, lacking any soul or enthusiasm. We chose quite a few varied dishes which reflected our ages and various stages of hunger. We asked for everything to come together. Todo junto. It didn't. One pizza. One small plate, 10 minutes later another pizza, 20 minutes later another small plate. All food was good!!! Desert order wrong, but couldn't be bothered to raise it with the sullen staff. Told no coffee so went next door. Spent half an hour with the family on the beach and left but thought I'd pop in and ask to use the bathrooms before the journey home. Customers only, I explained I'd just finished lunch there. No dice! Won't return....

Decent food with a great location but the service is awful ( not all of them) One of the senior guys looked disheveled and absolutely reeked of tobacco, so much so that when he leaned over ( which you should not do anyway) we both had to hold our breath. There were also a group of his friends stood in front of us diners at a drinking table that were so drunk they could not stand up! They were singing drunken songs and generally being a nuisance right in front of the diners, and this is still part of the premises! They were friends so we’re ignored by the staff, but all the diners were commenting. Very expensive, so when you charge these prices you expect amazing service. Cost AUD 190 for 2 which was double our most expensive meal in Spain. Shame because the place...
