Restaurante Ganesha - Rincon de la India — Restaurant in Mojácar

Our visit was a week night around 6.45pm, when we arrived only one other table who were already eating.

Firstly the plus points - *Lovely service from the waitress *Nice decor *Hot plates *Tasty poppadoms

The bad points - *Very small curry portions - the serving dishes are tiny *Lamb madras - reminiscent of a generic supermarket frozen meal, which although pretty good, not what you would expect from a restaurant. Sauce had no texture, only tomato flavour and little heat. *Bad kitchen habits - where I was sat I could see directly into the kitchen where the food was being plated. We had finished our meal (thankfully!) and I happen to glance up whilst a member of the kitchen team was serving some rice onto a silver plate/platter. Instead of using a spoon, serving utensil or anything suitable to move the rice from it's bowl to the serving dish, he used his bare hands. The plate was then taken to a table behind us with the rest of their meal. I've never seen anyone in a kitchen treat someone else's food with such disregard and disrespect for health and hygiene. Back again, below review from a year ago and pleased to say that the quality and friendly welcome is still there. We like Indian food and I am often checking out Indian restaurants around London and Cheshire due to work travel, finding it hard to think of an Indian Restaurant that can rival Ganesha for the quality of food, it really is an exceptional restaurant. Try the Prawn Chilli Hot, fabulous dish! Excellent Indian restaurant, brilliant service and has recently been extended so the interior seating is much improved. Having eaten in every Indian restaurant around Mojacar many times over the years this new offer is both good and bad The actual meals are what they say they are pn the menu, hot and promptly served .. but nothing special. The usual synthetic looking dishes and a little mean on the meat Further on the downside the prices are high .. around €10 - 13 just for the curry part of your meal with rice, breads etc etc all extra and above local prices. No menu del noche is available for those on a budget and with good appetites.
