La Granja Baqueira — Restaurant in Naut Aran

A fantastic dining experience whether you're in Baquiera to ski or not! La Granja is a charming restaurant just off the commercial centre of Baquiera that will leave you smiling. While we did have initial reservations about the establishment from reading some reviews, I can gladly say that our concerns were unfounded.

The moment we stepped in, we were warmly greeted by out server who made sure we had a smooth experience throughout our dinner. The servers were very polite and obliging as they took the patience to explain the menu and provide recommendations for both food and wine, going into the finer details to make sure we fully understood what we were getting. The menu is definitely extensive and features a lot of local flavours as well and you'll be hard pressed to find something that isn't to your liking.

The food was excellent throughout, from starters to the dessert, and we're all impeccably plated. I appreciated that we never felt rushed through the courses and was served at a nice pace. I have no words for such a experience. I was there with the family a couple of times during the week and in my opinion were not enough because we couldn’t taste all the dishes in the menu. All of them are amazing, total unexpected for the typical that you see in the rest of the restaurants in the area. Quality vs price is a 10 and the wine list will drive you crazy...lot of great and unique and rare options and the owner to help you with the decision but to be honest, he explain everything with such passion and acknowledge that will not be easy to choose just one. I'm happy to rate one of the very few 5 stars restaurants I've been. It's a family restaurant now run by a couple's son (mother still works there), where simple menus are cooked in a magnificent way. Every single element of the plate is a masterpiece, from the steak's side carrot to the little almonds of the chocolate cake and for us everything was unexpected.
