aA Hotel xalet Bassibe Baqueira — Hotel in Naut Aran

We are an American family of 5(3 daughters ages 14, 12, 9) living outside of Barcelona. We wanted a long weekend ski getaway and are somewhat spoiled by our native ski slopes in Colorado. We chose Baqueira as we heard that if we wanted the best skiing in Spain this was the place to go. As luck would have it we arrived as the biggest storm of the season was hitting the mountain, we left just as the sun was coming out 3 days later. The Chalet Bassibe is an older, small hotel located about 200 meters to one of the chairlifts to Baqueira(there are a few different locations to access the slopes). Our trusty VW Passat made it just in time into the parking lot and then we didn't move it until departure time. We were warmly greeted from our first entry to our final departure by the front desk staff. There was always a driver and a van ready to deliver us to/from the chairlift. They even drove us down into the lower part of Baqueira so that we could dine in other locations(as I said, we were not moving our car until departure!) The hotel itself is chalet style charming, a little old but very well maintained. Everything in the rooms/bathrooms functioned perfectly. The breakfast was included and buffet style with everything one expects for a pre-ski breakfast. We only dined in the hotel one evening and it was fine(nothing extravagant). The pool(part indoor/part outdoor) worked well for our needs as the kids always enjoy playing in them. We did not use the sauna as there was an additional cost for reserving it. The afternoon complimentary hot chocolate and pastry were always well received by the kids too. If I could give 0 stars for service I would. Do not book this hotel. They will literally insult you for asking for the simplest and most basic hotel amenities. I will admit the location is marvelous. However, we booked a room for 2 with plenty of time and when we got here it was clear that they did not check that our room was ready for us to use (we checked in at 7pm). Throughout our stay we never had a functioning mini fridge, they never gave us more than 2 hand towels let alone full body towels or a shower mat, and when we told them our safe was not working they gave us another safe that took up significant space in the small closet we had and they did not even take away the broken one. The hotel manager does not know what different towel sizes are, and never acknowledged how not having body towels can be an issue. The rudeness we received deserves negative stars if that...
