The Ambiente is nice, probably designed by a capable architect who transfered a farm yard into a good looking gastronomy with a pretty garden. Nice interior. 5/5.
Service: a guy from Dominican Republic was alright. Fast. Nice. Not professional in serving but altogether okay. 3/5.
But... The reason we went to the restaurant is and will always be the food. The cook has no idea about the most trivial things and simply is not capaple - we really regret having come there and can not recommend this place. Why? Read this:
We ordered a menu consisting of a first and a second course. The first course were prawns and St. James scalopps. The quality of both was acceptable, not super fresh. Deep-frozen before, but still okayish. The column of the prawns was not removed. A good restaurant makes this cut in the carcasses of the prawn, removes it and shows hereby that it knows how to prepare proper mariscos. They do not. But okay. I did it myself and don't complain about this mistake - maybe I expect too much in this case.
The main course was a complete desaster: I got some kind of fried potatoe slices together with my merluzo in "salsa verde". The so called salsa verde is the exact same garlic olive oil or butter the serve the scallops. It's not a salsa.l at all, just a probably not self produced lily something. The fish was low quality. Definitely not fresh. Super fishy, stinky, not a la plancha, as they call it, but super mega oily. The potatoes were horrible. Uncooked - or in other words raw. And fried, but came still raw and dripping with oil. I complained and asked for at least for French fries instead. The fries came after 20 minutes (which is already ridiculous) and were anything but not crunchy. Have a look at the pic. I told the waiter but there was no reaction again. The raxo of my company was completely dry. Really a poor dish without love. No decoration. No good quality. Nothing.
Altogether super mega disappointing. I would give 0/5 for the food but I have to give minimum one. So 1/5.
The bill, of course, included everything, even the worst and badly cooked stuff. 60 euro for sth you can't eat and, you're hungry afterwards is simply not justified. It seems ordinary people were seduced of opening gastronomy close to the camino without an idea how to do so. At least the cook has no clue. And the owner does no quality check. Have a look at the pictures - self-explanatory. Am sure that this owner will find explanations. I think there just aren't for such a mess.
Pity.
Last thing: Bathrooms: male bathroom was more than dirty already at 6.30 p. m. - so altogether the whole place unfortunately is not recommendable, unless you only want to have a beer in the garden. Maximum...

I had the pleasure of discovering Casas de Comida Santia in Pedrouzo, and I can’t recommend it enough. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality, as the restaurant is run by its owners — Chef Adonai and his wife Sandra — a truly lovely couple who pour their heart and soul into every detail.
The food is simply outstanding. The Russian salad was one of the best I’ve ever had — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The croquettes were exceptional: crispy on the outside, soft and full of flavor on the inside. The fish was fresh and delicious, prepared with great care and finesse.
Prices are very reasonable, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Their young daughter is also a delight — sweet, cheerful, and adds a charming touch to the warm, family-friendly atmosphere.
Casas de Comida Santia is truly an incredible place that deserves to be visited. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone passing through Pedrouzo looking for an authentic, heartfelt, and high-quality dining experience.

Read moreTourist trap! It does not look like restaurant, no kitchen, just a bar and food is cooked of a portable gas burners. Grilled vegetables were not grilled but stewed and were over salted to the point it was uneatable. Definitely they were not prepared to order and were just warmed up. Croquettes were not bad but overcooked and all brown black. All tourists had reservations for 7:30 pm and nobody at the property was there to greet them till 7:45 pm. Then they open dinning area and half of the tables were not cleaned since lunch. Just a disaster, there are much better choices in town, do not fall for this trap of a...
