The night was cold when I entered La Tablita. But my heart was quickly warmed by Martai’s greeting, as she passionately expounded her dinner menu to me. I felt her extra passion when she talked about her salads, so I ordered two salads. The first was tomatoes salad, where I had my maiden taste of the amazing Spanish blue tomatoes, served with super fresh oil of picual (Spanish olive oil). I was totally blown away. Martaí - matre'd, manager was an exemplary service staff who helped us along our gastronomic adventure. Drinks- tinto de verano was so good! Vino gordello paired well with the pork shoulder with turnip greens. The two salads on the menu was delish, my sis wanted to lick the plates. The pulpo served here was different from what you may get elsewhere, lightly charred, sitting on a bed of mash. It was the best meal we've had thus far. If I had a tail, it'd be wagging furiously. We had a cheese board with local cheeses that were so flavorful and delicious. The tomato salad was amazing. The flavors of the tomatoes were as if they had come from the garden that morning, especially the blue tomatoes. My husband had the salmon and I had the zucchini spaghetti, both were delicious.
