de Bassus — Restaurant in Orihuela

My self and my friend at a quiet time of the evening ordered a beer, a bottle of wine, a starter each and a mixed meat platter which looked excellent.

The starter arrived immediately, then on,y half way thought our main course arrived!

We politely asked for it to be taken away and kept hot, which they somehow seemed surprised, but did so.

Some 20 mins later the meat platter arrived, we tried the sausages and the ribs but they were cold, so was the rested of the food having checked. The chicken with my knife which also cold.

The food been cold and inedible was very reluctantly taken away to be replaced.

As by a miracle, it re arrived 10 mins later having been assured it was freshly cooked. Unfortunately the same mark in the chicken was still there and both sausages and ribs missing! A clear lie as to their claim.

Absolutely disgusted and no apology, we we left the premises (Having been very polite about the whole matter) and will never be eating there again.

An utter disgrace, over the food and the living, never ever again.

I hesitate on giving bad reviews as we live here and know many restaurants depend on their reviews, but when the service and the food (sorry lack of food) is awful then I feel I have no choice. We waited an hour for our food while tables around us who arrived after us we're being served there's. So we politely asked where our food was and explained our situation. No one took ownership it was clear that our order was never put through. From half an hour onwards we kept getting told 5 minutes with no apology or explanation. As we appreciate it's a busy time of the year we were more than patient. As our 2 children were now extremely hungry we decided enough was enough and asked for the bill. They gladly gave us the bill for our drinks and very promptly too with no apology. Such a shame we have enjoyed this place many times.
