Taberuga Restaurante Pizzería — Restaurant in Pájara

We visited this restaurant in April. We ordered 2 glasses of "tinto de verano" and a glass of water. So far so good. The wine arrived but not the water. We informed the waitress who said she would bring it. 20 minutes later it arrived. She took our food order. The salad which is not a complicated thing was in front of me in about 30 minutes but what for. Oh my God! When I saw the tiny bugs in the salad I thought my eyes were watering but alas no. They were bugs. I immediately flagged it down to the waitress who suggested replacing it. I would not have liked this option as I would not have been able to eat the salad after that in vain for another one. So I was left without a salad. After that, I started wondering what could be going on in the kitchen if the salad was not cleaned properly. I know many people would have left the place after the salad but.... We continued to wait. We got our pasta and pizza. Perfect pasta as it should be, but the pizza.. Tasteless, oily, very bad. We didn't even eat but a slice. The waitress when she took the plate away didn't even ask why we didn't eat almost any of it, as if it was normal for customers not to eat it. Of course they charged us for the salad we didn't eat. We complained about this and they corrected it. All in all I would not recommend this...

We absolutely love this restaurant! The food is simply outstanding – every dish tastes authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff are always welcoming, professional, and genuinely friendly, no matter how busy it gets. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both a relaxed dinner or a special night out.

Even during peak hours, when there’s naturally a bit of waiting time (around 10–15 minutes), the team handles it perfectly: you can enjoy a drink at the bar, and they make sure to come and get you as soon as a table is ready. It’s such a smooth and pleasant experience that waiting never feels like a problem.

Our visit was highly disappointing. The pizza was overloaded with low-quality ingredients; the cheese was stretchy, and the pizza was drenched in oil. The ham tasted stale, the pineapple in hawaiian and Peppers in the Diavolo were straight from a can, so Diavolo tasted like a vinegar Peppers 😂. It was clear from the plates around us that no one finished their meal. Have you ever seen that in italian restaurants? No. When we raised our concerns, the waiter insisted everything was fresh and claimed they never receive complaints. He said "you're not normal". Oh gosh. Who asked about his opinion about us? Overall, it was a regrettable dining experience. Good points: we got money...
