Disappointing experience. Arrived after a downpour so everything outside was closed. Asked for a table for 7, was told we would be seated in a few minutes. Waited patiently at the front door whilst the rest of our party waited under umbrellas. Was given the menu to read over. I noticed a table of 4 were seated before me, then another man said he was waiting for a table for 3 and he was seated immediately. When I asked the waiter how long we would be waiting for our table, he asked me how many people and when I replied 7, he just shrugged. I pointed out that I was before this group, and I had been waiting 20 mins. We had been informed by his colleague we would have just a few mins to wait. The waiter then asked the party of three, who clearly said they were first (they weren’t, but I had been waiting patiently to the side as I believed we were being sorted) the waiter then proceeded to tell me to come into the restaurant and challenge the table of three to argue out my point and see who was first in line. I reminded him that he had told me his colleague would deal with us… he said that he speaks to 100’s of people in a day and couldn’t remember me (from 20 mins earlier). That his colleague that left to finish her shift in their other restaurant. No apology, no manners and poor service. Needless to say, I didn’t argue the table out with the other customer. Disgusting behaviour, so we went to another restaurant after waiting for nothing in the rain. Rude waiter with a shaved head and braces...
Read moreThis delightful restaurant is operated entirely by one man. Prep, cook, serve - he does it all, and he does it well, because he likes it.
This is a haunt for locals, so lunch isn't even contemplated before 13:00. We arrived earlier than that, and found all the tables were reserved. The owner offered us a table at 13:00, but only if we could finish by 14:00, to make room for a reservation. We were desperate to have some local food from an already well-rated restaurant, so we thanked him, promised we would get out in the allotted time, and strolled around La Rambla for a while.
We got back at 13:00 to find the menu has no English, which is a great sign. The owner helped us fill in the blanks that we couldn't. Interestingly, the latter part of the menu is hamburgers, which surprised me, and made me wonder if we'd actually picked the right place. Later, after I had tasted my own marvelous food, and saw the owner delivering gorgeous edifices of hamburger architecture to other guests, my concerns evaporated.
The wine was great, our meals were great, the bread was astonishingly good and, like all the other food, was made by the owner. The world is a better place because this man and this...
Read moreBy far the best food on Mallorca! The whole trip was mostly disappointing from food culture point of view but visiting this place alone payed off so much.
The owner is a great guy who loves his job, the place is cute. If I would live close by I'd probably have lunch at this place for two weeks straight just to try all the meals. This place is I-don't-usually-write-reviews-but-this-is-a-five-star-restaurant kind of good.
I hope you stay forever and continue to enjoy preparing food for others and will make more people...
