Rude, disorganised, pretencioso. over important little bar.
It was mostly empty at 2.45pm when we walked in, there were multiple tables free with no reserved signs on them, plenty of free stools at the bar, infront of the almost completely empty tapas displays.
we didn't see any signage saying "wait to be seated" so headed for a table, but the barman shouted across the bar and insisted we go back and stand by the door and wait, as 2 people we were then directed to a table of 3 by the barman, and sat down... Only to then be told we must move, to another table for 3 by another member of staff. 🤷 Then the barman and the waiter disagreed as to who told us to sit where. By this point we'd had enough, I told them so, "esto es tan complicado para tomar una copa y unas tapas.." Far too complicated for a beer and a tapas,
we got up and left. And the staff then followed us outside, 🤔
The staff then explained the problem was "they didn't know if we had a reservation"... 🤷
Far too complicated and pretentious an experience for a small pincho / tapas bar, down a sidestreet, with almost completely empty bar-top pincho displays, that hadn't been refilled, at 2.45pm
A really bad experience, I'm not sure why they get such good reviews,.
One to avoid.
Updated, to reply to the owner,
Your method is that customers have to say hello?
All your customers have to say hello to the barman, who's at the other end of the bar, serving other customers? Really?
You are a bar.
We walked in A BAR and headed to one of MULTIPLE empty tables, when the barman shouted at us across the bar and made us stand in the middle of the room, before directing us to ANOTHER empty table, where we sat down before being told to move to ANOTHER empty table.
If you want a concierge service, directing people to the tables, put a member of staff on the door. There was no "wait here to be seated" sign at the door, there are no reserved signs on the table. Are we meant to be psychic?
No excuses for the bar top displays being empty? No excuses for you following people who've TOLD YOU they are leaving, into the street?
Your excuses just make it worse.
If you could leave negative...
Read moreAs a tourist, my experience with the customer service at this restaurant was far from satisfactory. The waitress tried communicating with us in English, but it was a struggle. Unfortunately, only a few staff members could speak English, and we ended up in a section where none of them could. The waitress spoke very quickly and seemed to be in a hurry. She walked off multiple times while asking questions and taking our order, which felt very rude. We also had to ask for the bill four or five times and actually had to get up and confronted the waitress directly to pay.
This restaurant serves tapas, and I had high expectations. However, the food was a major letdown. The patatas bravas, priced at €8, were simply plain potatoes baked with cocktail sauce and salt. We also had the flatbread, which was overly salty. Additionally, we ordered two broken egg dishes that were €11 and also excessively salty and not worth eating, in my opinion.
The prices were too high for the quality and quantity of food we received. The only dish that was somewhat enjoyable was the tumbet. The crispy king prawn dish was a joke; it contained just one mini shrimp for €5.15.
Overall, this was not a good experience. The food did not live up to the expectations of the lovely Spanish cuisine I had hoped for,...
