It doesn‘t even deserve one star. I am shocked, about the positive reviews. This was by far the worst experience I had on the island and probably one of the worst food experiences ever, and I’ve been around. We chose this place by accident and were quite hungry, usually in this case, the food tastes even better. We had chorizo which tasted like the most cheapest meat I ever had. It was impossible to eat it. The patatas bravas are as if they come out from McDonald’s only in bravas style. And I thought at least you can’t do much damage with paella. You can! For “only one euro more” you get the paella with peeled seafood. This was a mistake as the peeled seafood is nothing but cheap frozen packaged seafood. Looking at the paella I couldn’t even distinguish what is fish or meat or rice. All looked like already eaten and chewed up. Just terrible. The service is fine, but very impersonal, this is of course explained by the fact that for whatever reason this restaurant has a monopoly on the square. Only one little restaurant on the corner. is trying to survive against this ” big player.” If you find yourself on this square, go to Cuco Cocina, they are super nice and the food is good. In contrary to our terrible experience at St. Ambros It was painful to even pay the money, as it was...
Read moreI recently visited St Ambros and I must say, it was an extremely disappointing experience—possibly the worst dining experience of my life. My family and I decided to try their entrecôte, expecting a flavorful and visually appealing dish. However, what we received was quite the opposite. The entrecôte was utterly tasteless and appeared unappetizing. It lacked the golden crust one expects from proper searing, evidently cooked at too low a temperature. We ordered two of these, and unfortunately, they were both equally poor.
My family of four also decided to try their hamburgers. To our surprise, the consistency was unlike any hamburger we had ever experienced before—it was strange and off-putting. The taste was simply not good. Additionally, the burgers were missing the cheese that was clearly depicted in the menu photos, which added to our disappointment.
On a positive note, the staff was friendly. However, they did not respond to my concerns about the quality of the food, which was quite disheartening. One notable aspect of our visit was that the restrooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a slight consolation during an otherwise negative...

Mallorca has plenty of great restaurants, but St. Ambros? That’s not just dinner – that’s a full-blown love story served on a plate.
Let’s start with the service: absolutely top-notch. The staff is so friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm that I started wondering if I was secretly part of their family. Need something? They’re already on it. Have a question? They answer it and suggest the best dish on the menu (spoiler alert: it’s the shrimp with pasta).
And yes – DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and order the shrimp pasta. I took one bite, closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, I wasn’t on Mallorca anymore. I was in some kind of heavenly dimension made of garlic butter, ocean breeze, and pure joy.
The portions? Generous. The vibe? Mediterranean-chic, relaxed but with class. The espresso? A tiny Italian hug in a cup.
I came in looking for a good meal. I left emotionally attached.
St. Ambros – 13/10. Go there. Order the shrimp pasta. And tell the staff they’re amazing....
