This is THE most legitimate COCKTAIL BAR in Palma! And the FOOD is GORGEOUS. Living periodically in Palma recently, there is no other place I would more highly, sincerely, recommend. But also, don't go, so it remains my secret privilege. Weary eyed the night I arrived I stumbled upon perfect gyozas under a heavy snow of bonito and a kimchi salad heightened in mango accompaniment. I tragically, unknowingly, had a beer. Watching the owner shake a cocktail I knew I made a terrible mistake. Inspired, I planned my following night to be a Palma tour of my favorite Japanese food and cocktails. After a cliche sake mojito disappointment at Izakaya we forewent all plans and rushed straight for Ka Sui. He had me at kumquat gimlet! Followed by his suggestion for a mezcal negroni because Del Maguey Vida! Sippers of chartreuse and finally a subtly delicate lavender house mix. To see the ice block and saw is to know you're in the hospitality of the cities best, most studious mixologist. I practice radical honesty: I don't lie. Please (especially if you have high standards) go there - but also PLEASE don't...
Read moreThe food was very very good. Homemade dim sum, the sea bass, pork etc. we were told when we sat down at 8 the table was needed at 10 which was fully understood. Until about 2130 I was thinking how nice it would be to bring my work team next week. But We were repeatedly informed this later on at the end and felt pressured despite being 21:50 and then the bill was brought without asking. Upon payment we were surprised in the 20 years of living in Mallorca you could only take 2 card payments , it was only a table of 5. Plus we left a 10% , €30 tip which was not even gratefully received. I consulted the group outside and they all thought the above. Upon leaving no one said thank you or bye. The funny thing was the majority of the tables were empty to a good team would say stay anyway we will use the other tables until the remaining arrive. It’s a great shame as the food was amazing. As you can see from my 200+ reviews on Google I fairly rate all restaurants and know what I am...
Read moreI found this place extremely overpriced and overhyped, especially considering that the portions of food are minimal, and the prices are high. Ok, the flavors of the several dishes that we tried were good, but it's definitely not worth it. You can find much better dinner options in Palma that will serve you a decent size portion and won't cost you 20€ per appetizer. The waitress didn't offer us the specials available (we overheard them from a different server to another guest), and then suggested we get the paper thin scallop appetizer that was probably made with ants in mind, or some other equally tiny creature with proportional stomachs. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going to Kasui. Head off to pretty much ANY other restaurant in the square where this one is located, and you'll leave as a satisfied customer. To top it all off, the menu had no skewers available, but showed pic of skewers on the paper menu where the plates are placed. Very confusing and...
