Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. If you love steak and sausage then do yourself a favour, check this place out. It's a small cosy venue. Not pretentious. They grill in full view, so that becomes part of the experience if you are facing the right direction.
A very simple menu as it should be. They have a tomato, potato, corn on the cob, and olives dish which works for vegetarians as long as you aren't strict. Ask for it on a separate plate otherwise the default is on the same plate as the meat. There's also some really nice bread with chimichuri on the side that everybody gets which is yummy. But they optimise for the meat, so be prepared.
They will cater for a single person with smaller cuts of meat and sausage but there's no small mixed grill as such. Thats what I had (mrs is veggie) and two guys next to me. I had a supposed 300g steak (pretty sure if was bigger) and a churizo. Mrs got the veggie dish. It did the job nicely, nothing left, we were satisfied. Cost less than 50 Euro inc some wine.
For the best experiece go with two or three meat loving friends so you can try multiple cuts or one thats only available as a large cut. Best to book especially if a group larger than three. Can be done via whatsapp (check website for number) with a little Google translate if you don't write Spanish.
All round had one of the best dinning...
Read moreFantastic atmosphere with a mix between a rustic tavern and an intimate local restaurant. Space is limited, and we didn’t have a reservation. We got a table along the wall, which seemed a bit tight at first but turned out to be a great spot.
The menu focuses on grilled beef from different cuts of the cow. We shared a mixed platter with sides, more than enough for two, and probably fine for 3–4 people if you’re not too hungry.
The vibe is amazing. Even though not all the staff speak English, they’re friendly and do their best. It can get busy and a bit chaotic, which might explain reviews saying it seems like staff don’t notice you. But it’s really no big deal, just walk up to the bar if you need something. It’s close to every table.
Even though it’s primarily a grill restaurant, the side dishes are absolutely worth mentioning. They serve bread with amazing aioli, cooked/grilled potatoes, a few simple vegetables, and an incredible grilled corn that was easily one of the highlights of the meal.
We ordered the meat medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. Definitely a place we’ll come back to.
We also forgot a shopping bag with clothes there, and when we returned the next day, they had taken great care of it – it honestly felt like they were just waiting for us to come back. That kind of service really leaves...
Read moreA bustling and rustic little restaurant in Old Town. Touristic area, but as far from a tourist trap as you can get. It’s quite unassuming if you are just walking past in the daytime, or when it’s just opened at 8pm, but the place fills up VERY quickly, and with good reason. I would recommend to go at 8 or book ahead; the place was packed with locals and visitors within 15 minutes.
So I returned to La Cuadra del Mano last night, after my initial visit probably four years ago...I swear I have dreamed of the steak here. Once again the meal was soooo delicious! The steak is phenomenal and cooked to perfection (rare, as I requested), the humble side dishes are tasty, and the caper&herb olive oil to top it off is fantastic.
Great value!! The half portion (pictured) along with sides, bread, herb&caper oil, and red wine was under €30. That was easily enough for two, too much for one (I have a huge appetite and I was too full!)
Skip the high end restos if you love your steak, this place is not...
