Pazo Do Pulpo — Restaurant in Palma

Ignore what you’ve read on the comments about food being overpriced, staff is not friendly, small portions, etc!

We paid 60€ including 1 litre of Sangria! If you complaint about this place being expensive, go to Palma and you’ll find out what expensive means!

The food was excellent! I come from a small island with plenty of traditional fish recipes, and it didn’t disappoint! I kept saying to my partner “how come we only found this place on our last day”. If you don’t believe us, just look at the video!

The portions were generous and the staff were super friendly, at least to us! We are not spanish although we learned Spanish and speak fluently. But please, don’t go to a restaurant a start asking questions in other languages apart from English and Spanish, and expect the people that work there to answer you! Terrible and dangerous We walked in and the waitress wasnt happy to see us. I would describe her as hostile at best. So no hello so far. She left our menus on the table without saying a word. Like she was having a problem with us. We ordered a fish and shells selection. It was dreadfull. They could have cleaned the mussels at the outside but this was the least. We found a couple of closed mussels and all the others were dirty inside. You can easily get food poisoning from this or even die. The fish was ok but cold inside. We have also ordered a seafood paella that was ok. They have refunded 5 euros of the bill because of the bad mussells . For us this was not the case though. To be honest, I was expecting a little bit better. Day before I went to eat, there was a line outside waiting, so I thought okay this restaurant must be good.

I ordered calamari with anchovies, but calamari rings were sadly overcooked, they were too hard, only part of calamari that was good are so called baby calamari. I would recomend for all calamari lovers to take the big plate of only baby calamaris.

The bill was also maybe on a more expensive side, for two people it was 40 e. They bring you olives and bread at the start that you don’t ask for, but at the end they ofcourse charge you (1,5 e per person). Also pommes were 5 e which, I think it’s too much.

All together, the meal was okay, I just expected better because all of the good reviews and waiting line infront restaurant. Maybe they are better in other sea foods, but this review is only based on...
