I can't believe we hadn't previously found this place.
We were welcomed in by the owner, who looked as if she ran a well-organised yet welcoming establishment.
The decor is restrained and classy with the walls adorned by numerous artworks.
There's also a hell of a lot of space devoted to wine, with seemingly any flat surface hilding bottle after bottle.
That abundance transferred to the wine list itself, which had largely Italian options, but also a good range of Mallorcan wines, including a number of by the glass options (€6.50~€8.00).
I chose a Callat, a medium bodied red, while I made my food choice.
Thw menu is not long, with a variety of tapas options, mainly pasta-based mains, and a special daily list.
We chose tuna carpacchio, vitello tonnata and a melon salad.
Before their arrivals we were presented with a small bowl of gazpacho as an "amuse bouche", this was deliciously fresh, and not overwhelmed by garlic, as it so often is in many restaurants. Chilled garlic is not a favourite flavour for me!
Mains were reasonably priced (pastas ~€15), we chose spaghetti carbonate and tagliatelle bolognese, which were excellent. The pasta- quite clearly freshly made in house- was light and almost translucent.
Mt wife had beef and (s)mashed potatoes. The meat was meltingly soft and the potato well seasoned, buttery and welcoming.
Staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable, with good advice around wine.
My efforts with Spanish seemed to be appreciated too!
A final bill of €130 (3 starters, 3 mains, 4 glasses of wine and table water) represented way better value than some other meals we had in Port de Pollença this holiday.
All-in-all Loqueria gets a hearty recommendation from me and the family (esp my 13 year old food critic daughter!).

Read moreStarting with the good, we loved the restaurant space, decor and ambience. The family who run it were friendly and had a very comfortable feel. We had a good bottle of well priced red wine and table service was good. On the food side, it was hit and miss. We had the beetroot and grape and the Buratta and tomato salads to start. Both were ok. Ravioli and seafood spaghetti were good, fresh home made pasta making the difference. The octopus was a disappointment, looking nothing like some of the other octupus dishes that came.out of the kitchen that night. Basically one arm of an octopus laid alongside the aubergine puree rather than a larger portion nestled on top. We shared the tiramisu for dessert which was good. All in all, expectations nowhere near met given the ratings from...
Read moreAmazing place. The menu is around 10 dishes including tapas to share and mains. Feels like grandma’s home - quirky decorations, classical music, homely atmosphere and great food! Tuna tartare is so soft and full of flavour, tagliatelle al ragu very satisfying and spaghetti with shrimps that actually tastes genuinely like shrimps! The pasta is homemade. The baked anchovies a bit boney for me (but I suppose it’s anchovies’ fault) nevertheless very tasty! Mascarpone with strawberries is wonderful. The owner is also very generous with complimentary olives (amazingly spicy!), focaccia (warm) and a little starter (delicious!!!). You will also find plenty of wines to choose from from the list, all natural and delicious. This place is a must-go if you’re looking for a...
