Avoid - Tourist tax?!
I cannot recommend Dolç Sa Pobla at all and would actively encourage other tourists to avoid it or at least to check what they are being charged. The café has a large menu board clearly stating a coffee and enseymada is €3.50 however when I went to pay it was apparently €6 for us. When I queried this I received a flustered response that it was a different price for take-away. This is the only café I have ever visited that supposedly charges more for take-away than to sit in. I can't help but think the attempt to charge me almost double was linked to my being a tourist and a hope that I wouldn't notice. If such a different price structure exists, and I don't believe it does, then why is this not stated and why did the staff member behind the counter attempt to cover the price I was paying on the card machine? It was only by chance I noticed. Dishonest and disappointing. The ensaymada was OK but the nefarious approach from staff left a bitter taste. It's very rare that I would give a negative review but the café acted seemingly very dishonestly and others, especially tourists, should be wary to check the amount they are paying.
Update: I'm unable to reply to the owner's comment below directly so editing to do so. If this is the case then you need to speak to the female member of staff who served us on Wednesday 11th October around 12pm. We didn't pay the €12 for 2 coffees and ensaymadas because I spotted the attempt to over charge us and challenged her. At which point she told us that was the different price for takeaway and I stood my ground to say we would eat in and stayed (out of principle, to be honest). So there is no receipt. It was not a 'mistake' on her behalf as she fumbled to explain that you had a different price for takeaway. If she had said it was an error then fine, but she didn't. I have no reason to make this up, I don't live here but have visited PP often with my family for holidays. I'm writing my review because I am genuinely annoyed and disappointed that your staff member tried to pull a fast one. The coffee and ensaymada was actually quite nice but the attempt to over charge us was wrong and I wonder how many times the business has done it to others. If this isn't your business's policy then you need to speak to your...

Also I had a smoothie and it was REALLY home made and costed just about 3,5€. So if you want a good service, quick and fresh food this place is for you, the only negative point is that itsnt close to...

The coffee was exceptional!
