OM Indian Restaurante — Restaurant in Pollença

We had a very bad experience at this restaurant. Me and my partner were seated at a table outside (it was the only one free when we arrived and were encouraged to sit there by the restaurant staff). It was a four person table so the two of us sat on the same side next to one another facing the restaurant. We were initially in good spirits. As our starters were brought out, one of the staff members or owner asked if I spoke Hindi (i’m of south asian descent) and I replied that I did not. He then quietly asked if my partner could move and sit opposite me so we could give up the small table for another couple who were sat beside us because according to him, they ordered more food and needed more space. I politely obliged but later realised that they did not in fact order more food than us. The owner/staff wanted to prioritise them because they were a posh couple who seemed wealthy and were likely regular visitors and therefore deserved better treatment and more respect than we did in the restaurant/owners eyes. This was very insulting and degrading and it completely ruined our night. One of the most basic principles of good customer service is to treat all customers equally regardless of who they are or how much they spend or what they look like. This restaurant failed to do this and it was just unacceptable behaviour.

In regards to the food, it was very hit and miss. The mango lassi is the worst I have had and the seekh kebab starter was absolutely awful. It was old and hard to chew and I actually can’t believe they even served it like that. The chicken tikka starter was good and so was the cheese naan and lamb karai. The mixed grill was not good at all as they served old chicken which was rock hard.

Overall I would not recommend visiting this place due to the bad experience/service we received as well as the food being very hit or miss and lacking...

Food was not bad but for me personally it was just OKish. I feel the value for money wasn't there. Prices are higher for the taste or quality/quantity of food you are getting. I get better value in Berlin which is capital of Germany.

However the thing that hit us the most was that the chutneys (sauces) provided were charged extra. Perhaps if you are going to do this, please let the customers know since it happens no where else. I don't remember if they had the costs on menu and maybe there were since I already see owners reply to my friends review. However, I feel that they should let know for the reason that this item is complimentary almost everywhere.

I am saying all this since this was the first time in my life that I saw a charge for this. Probably I am too harsh on this point since it wasn't the costliest item but just ruined the mood kinda.

would have liked to sit in for meal but every time we passed it was empty and no atmosphere, decided on take away. very expencive and food pretty poor, chewy chicken in korma, sauce tasted jarred but a bit of extra added flavor, also in balti, very small portions and dips for popadoms very watered down and small. best bit was nann bread. friendly owners
