Had a most amazing evening at no.31. The atmosphere outside in the rear courtyard was fantastic. The hosts were both lovely, full of flair and style. Everything was geared towards the comfort of the guests and they made us feel important and cared for. The food was amazing, twists on dishes from around the world were on offer. To start we had bread and olives plus the Duck Rolls both fantastic. My wife had the roast chicken which had a curried style sauce and I had the grilled salmon special with a lemon butter and pea and mint mash. Both were cooked exceptionally well and we enjoyed the immensely. Apparently the Salmon is to be added onto the main menu which I think is a must. We also had a lovely desert each both made by the host apparently. No31 is a small family run dining experience with a great chef, great hosts/proprietors and lovely atmosphere. The tables are really well spaced apart and everything was perfect. They apologised at the start that they were busy and may be a wait but to us it wasn’t long and when your on holiday where else do you need to be apart from sat down drinking nice local wine and eating amazing food. 5 stars. Can’t wait to go back. Gareth and...
Read moreGreat restaurant tucked away in a back street. The location was a little strange as it is well off the beaten track in a residential area and we sat in the small terrace at the back looking up at peoples washing! Having said that the little garden area is very pretty with trees, nice furniture and twinkly lights. With regards to the food, 6 of us had fab starters and mains, the only criticisms were the chilli prawns which were piping hot and in shells and therefore difficult to peel as well as losing some flavour as the sauce was on the outside of the shell. They were also very messy. As a main I had the ravioli which had a Thai twist so lovely flavours, I just found it a little bit watery. Other than that we had lovely wine, great service and the owner was happy to chat even though they were very busy - he also makes his own cocktails which were delicious! Overall the meal was a nice experience (if a little expensive) with good quality food and wine so we would recommend...
Read moreWe liked the restaurant & unexpected nice backyard terrace for a pleasant ambience. The staff were lovely & some of the food was good - but think there is some room for improvement in our honest opinion. Good choice of cocktails or mocktails for our kids. We had a good if a little expensive bottle of white wine..We enjoyed sharing starters of bao bun, duck spring rolls - however the prawn ceviche was heavily coconut flavour as there seemed to be a Thai influenced theme running through the menu - but a little too heavy on the flavour in our view as the main course noodles were also over sweet. The lamb was huge & very tasty, as was the cod - nice sauce but the fish itself was not fresh enough - it seemed a little wet as perhaps frozen not fresh.. Overall - it was nice but we think...
