Without a doubt the best restaurant in the Pollenca area. Simple set lunch menu at €12 per head for 3 courses including bread and olives, house wine and water (refills of both of which seemed to be FOC). Paella starter was cooked perfectly, the goat dish which may have been lamb but anyway was absolutely delicious, the meat so soft and tender it just fell off the bone. Hake with clams in tarragon sauce and suckling pig were also superb. As for the savoury dishes the desserts were also simple, 2/3 to choose from and all excellent. The chef/owner is French, and as for all of his staff very friendly and welcoming - at the end of service he walked to every table to introduce himself and make sure everyone was happy with their meals - all were without question. A real find - we are hoping to go again tomorrow if we can get a table. Shame it’s only open for lunch at the moment - the owner/chef explained its just him in the kitchen and 90 covers each lunchtime leaves him too exhausted to open in the evenings also...
Read moreWhat a fabulous place this is. I'd heard so many great things about the set menu, and I can confirm its the deal of the year. €13.50 for three courses, water and wine. What a bargain. I just can't understand how this place makes money. There are three dishes to choose from in each course, and I believe the menu changes daily. There is also an extensive a la carte menu if the set menu is not for you. The dishes are beautifully cooked, well portioned and extremely tasty. We arrived at 12:30 to ensure we got a table. We shouldn't have worried as the restaurant was only half full by 2pm, although it was a Tuesday. We both had baked camembert to start, followed by roast goat for the wife and pork fillet in a mushroom sauce for me. Everything was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had creme caramel and cheese cake. Again, both excellent. The staff are super friendly and efficient. The restaurant has outside tables, but we sat inside (air con!). We'll definitely go back. Best food in...
Read moreWe ate here for lunch from the fixed price menu. The pumpkin soup was very bland. The children ate chicken, until they saw it had blood on it and the sauce had the consistency of wallpaper paste. 45 minutes later the adult main courses arrived. The juice we ordered didn’t arrive at all. We decided not to have desert as we couldn’t risk it! At the end of the meal we were informed that the card machine was not working. This meant we had to sit in the restaurant for another half an hour whilst one of the party went to the cash point. Overall, poor service, disappointing food, hot restaurant all resulting in a most unpleasant lunch time. If I could give this zero...
