Stumbled across this lovely little restaurant while walking through the streets of Pollença old town. It's away from the main bustle of Placa Major and all the more intimate for it, making it more relaxed and unhurried. First impressions are everything and the lovely friendly waitress immediately made us feel welcome, happily chatting in English while preparing our table. We chose to share black seafood paella which is coloured with the ink from a squid. Although looking unusual as it's black, the cooking was to perfection and the best paella I've had and so thoroughly recommended. This was accompanied with a glass of local Rosé, full of fruit and left me wishing I wasn't driving. As the meal was freshly prepared there was a delay and time to relax and enjoy two small squares of pizza which was a surprise. The topping was some form of caramelised onion with honey. Unusual yet extremely tasty. Desert was a wonderfully prepared apple tart served with cream, ice cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon. When we asked for the bill were even given a free glass of port. A lovely meal for two in a lovely location for around €65 which was made all the more special by the friendliness and perfectly balanced attention of the waitress. Highly...
Read moreHad been dining out for a week in Mallorca and I believe this meal was the one dinner that really left us disappointed and did not live up to the Google reviews. It ended up being one of the more touristy spots(in terms of food execution and quality) and the price point being 20-30% higher than it should be. Come here if you want suckling pig (as not all restaurants serve it), however, avoid the Gambas Al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) as at 20 Euros, the shrimps were not fresh and the oil that they used had a rancid taste and smell to it which went thru the nostril. Padron Peppers were good value due to the portion size, but it is usually included as part of the main dish and waiter should have pointed that out to avoid ordering the same thing separately.
Dinner here (2 appetizers, paella and suckling pig) for 2 costed around 105 Euros, which is the same price range as other top gourmet restaurants on the island.

Read moreWe had a great time at La Placeta-Pollença. Although the restaurant was crowded and we did not have a reservation, the waitress managed to get us a table (therefore, I suggest to have a reservation in advance). We had the Paella and it was really nice and well served. In the end, we were very satisfied. The staff was friendly and attentive even with the crowded place. Sangria was great as well; however, they don't have a menu for drinks, and even when asked, we were not informed of the price of it in advance (I noticed that this is a common practice here since we visited other places that did not have a menu for drinks). Anyhow, I would definitely recommend the place!
PS: The jar of sangria costs about 30 euros (walking by the Can Picafort coast, there was one restaurant offering the same for 10. Having not tried the other, I cannot judge the difference in price, but it is quite...
