We really enjoyed our stay at Can Aulí, after reading much about the property & following along on socials. The hotel is a beautiful example of a Mallorcan house and I appreciated the design touches and thoughtful additions to our stay such as a welcome drink & macarons in the room as well as fragrance gift. Small tokens like this do not go unnoticed and we were pleased we chose to stay here.
There were a few minor points that I would change, for instance, I wouldn't describe this as a 'luxury retreat' but perhaps this is because we stayed out of season. It is a very nice hotel and spotlessly clean with very friendly staff so we would definitely return if we were to stay in Pollença.
I believe some small changes would help to ensure a more luxury feel. I hope the hotel finds this constructive & helpful.
the welcome drink was a nice touch but we would have preferred to have this on our own time, not straight through the door after a day of travelling. the facilities were not explained, both in person or in a hotel booklet in our room. For example, we requested to use the steam room and had to wait some time for this to be turned on and heated up. As such we didn't get to spend any valuable time in it as it was cold. We also were only aware of the facility because I happened to look on the website prior to our departure. It would have been nice to know this earlier. Also, an added touch of essential oils or eucalyptus in the room would have made this experience more pleasant. The steam room wasn't particularly enjoyable. Although our welcome was nice, nobody explained the breakfast process to us. As such, we were unsure if a full english, smoothie & other options were included in our offering or required the price tag on the menu. If this is the case this would go against the hotel as it is something I would expect as standard when having paid for the breakfast option. In our case, we did without. Similarly with fruit, the display in the kitchen was delightful and I would have appreciated some fruit but was not sure I was able to take this or whether or not we were allowed on that side of the kitchen - I guessed not. The only premium fruit I was able to have was strawberries on our last morning. Sunbed cushions were left outside in rain so that we couldn't sit outside when the sun appeared. one lamp was not working in the garden for our whole stay - an easy fix either replace the bulb or take it away. design 'carrie' lamps not put out in the evening & cushion seating not put out for our entire stay as pictured which was a bit disappointing and made the garden feel 'out of season'. soundproofing of room no. 1 not very good - could hear breakfast set up from 7am onwards and staff laughing and singing building work on Monday 10th right next to our room & garden - drills and hammering yet no mention / apology unfortunately breakfast was slightly lacking and did not meet expectations: frozen mini pastries were not what I expected from a luxury retreat, fruit salad was fizzy ie. old. As mentioned, Full English was priced at €34 despite paying for breakfast. Coffee from coffee machine was not premium. Day 1 received overcooked omelette and Day 3 was served 2 raw boiled eggs. Nothing like the images I had seen online... Kettle in room was very loud along with no coffee machine. vanity mirror in bathroom placed awkwardly high and unable to use.
I hope this feedback is helpful. It is a lovely, peaceful space and the staff are very friendly. I would have appreciated more information on the hotel rather than a map of the surrounding area. Stunning lounge area and great location for Pollença and the North. Thank you for...
Read moreWow. Best hotel we have ever stayed in. And we have stayed in some top 5 star hotels arounf the world. 100% faultless from start to finish. I want to take some time to do a proper and fully detailed review. However, one issue we had (no fault of Can Auli) was Google maps so I just want to help others to be able to find this haven. ||We parked at Cecili metel which was supposed to be about 7 minutes from Can Auli. Set google maps to walking and an hour later we were nowhere near the hotel. If driving, drive up the road Carrer Cecili metel. There is a Repsol garage on the right and there is a closer car park on the opposite side of the street. Google maps just does not work in this area. Take the road to the side of the Repsol garge, with the gareg on your right and go to the end - its a one way street. Turn right and go to the fountain where the roads split into three,||Take the middle road (the immediate left of the fountain and Can Auli is just on your left - it is so discrete you could easily miss it)||For Pollenca town square (Google Maps had another coulple heading in the opposite direction, turn right out of Can Auli, go to the fountain and take a left,. Go past the Tabac shop (easy to see) and look for a vintage clothes shop on the right. Go up there and you are in the square. ||Trust me, an hour dragging suitecases is no fun in the heat.||TIP : Dont try to park any closer to the hotel - it is always busy and dont park on any yellow lines. The carpark opposite the Reposl is the best bet.||Cant wait to go back to this hotel. The bed was amazing and so comfortable, softest towels and flannels we've ever known, and as for the breakfast - surpasses anything we have ever had. Will do a full review when...
Read moreUnfortunately, I do have to agree to the recent negative comments and I would like to explain why you are better off somewhere else. First of all, the hotel is a beautiful building using a great and very decorative stone. The design is stunning. However, the hotel does not offer true value for the money. Rooms are nice, but as it is a city hotel with a lot of stone, it gets very hot and the airconditiong is not strong enough to provide a cool space. Especially at night, when you would prefer chill temperature, this is major drawback. In the room there is a very strong smell that comes from the shower drain. The main problem is different: this hotels tries to compete in the 5 star class, but offers poor service. There is self-service at breakfast, no service in the pool area and, as the other guests mentionend, an outrageous menue offer in the Restaurant. 30€ for 8 anchovis served in the can, 16€ for a two tomato salad and 16€ for 8 small slices of bread...none of the dishes were actually cooked or specially prepared. Hence, the restaurant is always empty which is explained from the staff as the guest are looking for variety. Do yourself a favour and look for variety before you check-in to this scam. We left two days earlier for a well air-conditioned hotel nearby, even when our stay was already fully paid. This should tell you everything about the quality you can expect in...
