Dear reader, We visited Rhonda on a cloudy day which proved to be great… as a fantastic thunder storm passed over. For some much needed water in the surrounding area. Walked around town which gets extremely busy with tourists and their cars. And thus parking is a nightmare. By luck we chose to ride out of town a little and the attached picture shows the way over the bridge… and found a small parking just near Mesón El Sacristán.

Unbelievable choice; we decided to stop in to the restaurant on a public holiday, it was very busy, but the staff were awesome.

The owners wife (I believe) was just amazing, very friendly and very funny. The place was busy with families enjoying their time together, the smell of the wood fire just brought a great vibe, and the meat fridge was just awesome.

Because of our seating location I could see the deserts being made and everything was home made. I asked to try some deserts and the lady just gave me a tasting lesson in trying home cooked deserts. They were amazing.

The chef (owner I believe) came out and went to every table and spoke with each group. Rare to see this, but impressive.

Overall, it was a pleasure to eat here. The team at such a busy time, were just brilliant. It just goes to show… looking for something outside of the chaos which is “in town” pays off.

Thank you Mesón El Sacristán for making our day very special. And we look forward to coming back and this time trying a glass of wine...

I could not recommend this place enough! Located on a picturesque square and having beautiful interior this place is a winner by looks alone. Where it really shines, though, is the food. Quality and flavour are just heavenly. I ordered caramelised pig cheeks with chestnut mash and a sweet sauce. It sounded intriguing enough on paper and turned out to be so good I'd actually call it an experience, not simply a meal. Everyone in my party of four ordered different things, but we all left the restaurant very happy. They serve local wines made in Ronda and I'd strongly advise to choose one of these, really good! Last, but not least, a special and well deserved mention to the staff. Very friendly, very helpful - ready to explain anything on the menu and crack a...

10 years ago we found this place by mistake and we said if anytime we co back to Ronda we will return to eat here. We managed today and the food was as good as then and the staff incredibly nice. We ate twice here.. rib eye, ox tail and lamb. And some tomatoes almost as good as my gramma did 40 years ago in her garden. They show you the meat first and give you all the details necessary. The beef (they have several types) is exquisite and cocked to perfection as you wish, the lamb was juicy and the ox tail was soooo tasty OMG. Always accompanied by a Protos crianza wine…. A delightful dinner every single time. The chef comes and checks if you like it and you can see the satisfaction of everyone in the staff when they see you enjoy their food. Lovely and...

They really should have a better desert cook - the deserts were frankly not good, the tiramisu is made from whipped cream instead of eggs, with a subtle amount of mascarpone - I could eat only 2 spoons from it. Also the other deserts were frankly not good (arroz con leche and torrija). On the positive side, the gambas on salt were excellent and there was one lady who was friendly and offered great service. The other waiters were not very professional, and the boss is quite arrogant, especially when we confronted him with our bad experience. It started very well, but our experience ended with a bitter a very bitter taste unfortunately.
