Not recommended at all.
We went here after looking for a typical restaurant in Ronda and were fooled by the reviews this restaurant has.
Upon arriving we noticed that the restaurant doesn't look inviting. The decoration is very old fashioned and a bit chaotic. The place smells a lot of cooking and grease, this is because their main dish is meat on top of a hot plate that you can grill yourself. After going there we had to wash all our clothes due to the awful smell.
The staff were friendly, but the food was awful. We ordered some salmon toasts with truffle and we received stale bread with store bought salmon and a bit of truffle paste on each bread.
We then ordered the asparagus with cheese, and received asparagus that looked like spaghetti. Incredibly thin and small, with a bit of truffle paste on top and some cheese. The portion was so small that we thought we were hallucinating. This dish alone costs over 10 euros.
At the same time they gave us some stale bread with tomato paste and again the same truffle paste on top. We didn't order this and thought it belonged with the asparagus, but they ended up charging us for this as well.
I don't recommend going here, there are way better options in Ronda. Don't be fooled by all the 5...
Read moreWhat a gem of a find in Ronda....perfect sun trap for an outdoor pint (which I availed of many) but the food and the service were outstanding....1st the food, YOU NEED TO GET the prawns on artichoke, (had them twice they were that good), the Bull Tail was fall off the bone, the steak sizzled as it was layed in front of me and tasted beautifully tender and then the cod (my 3rd night eating) was so special in that Ronda olive oil. Now the service...absolutly exceptional, always attentative and with so much local knowledge and humour......credit to this place on every level. Also of note, I always judge the cleaniness of the place by how the toilets are maintained, they were spotlessly clean on every visit. I will return to Ronda again, for its charm and beauty but more so for this place. Trully outstanding. You cannot miss this place, stay on the left hand side over the bridge coming from the new town, through the arches of the leather shop, once you see the ice cream (they serve this too!) your there! Thank you all for making my trip that way more special, I will see ye all again my friends....Trevor,...
Read moreI wish I could give this place 10 out of 5!! Eating here was such a lovely experience. One of the best meals I had on our trip. The staff was amazing and the food was incredible. The atmosphere was cozy and clean.
The starters were all delicious and fresh. The ox tail was tender and delicious. We ordered so much and we were able to get some to go. Everything was delicious. There were a few vegetarian options but you may need to ask to accommodate anything more restrictive.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly. My Spanish is not very good but they encouraged me to speak what I could which was very nice. For being so close to the main attraction in Ronda, this spot feels very slow paced and authentic.
We visited in a Monday night and did not need reservations.
I cannot recommend this spot...
