Arabal in Ronda delivered an absolutely unforgettable dining experience that perfectly captures the magic of Spanish cuisine and hospitality. From the moment we were seated on their spectacular terrace at sunset until we reluctantly left nearly at midnight, every aspect of our evening was flawless. The culinary journey began with exceptional starters - a beautifully prepared beet carpaccio paired with a refreshing blue cheese salad, followed by garlicky langostinos that were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. For mains, we indulged in a tender and delicious solomillo, expertly prepared tagliatelle mariscos rich with seafood, and an expertly crafted oxtail stew - a true regional delicacy that showcased the kitchen’s mastery of traditional Ronda cuisine. Dessert was the perfect finale with a superb Basque cheesecake that was creamy perfection, accompanied by delicate orange milhojas that provided a lovely citrus contrast, all complemented by our tinto de verano and digestifs. Our server Maria was absolutely spectacular - attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had an exceptional experience. Her service elevated an already outstanding meal into something truly memorable. The views from Arabal’s terrace are nothing short of breathtaking, and watching the sunset over Ronda while enjoying world-class cuisine created an atmosphere that was both romantic and relaxed. The restaurant perfectly embodies the Spanish dining culture - we lingered for hours, savoring not just the food but the entire experience. Arabal is an absolute must-visit when in Ronda, offering an authentic taste of Spanish hospitality at its finest that will stay with you long after you leave. Highly recommended for romantic dinners, special occasions, and anyone seeking exceptional sunset dining with...
Read moreDon’t be fooled by the scenic view and tasteful décor—this restaurant is all style and no substance. Our evening began with an unnecessary wait for our reserved table, “softened” by what we were led to believe were complimentary drinks (spoiler: they weren’t). Once seated, the view was indeed beautiful, but the experience quickly unraveled. The ravioli arrived cold and the salmon pasta was bland. After voicing our concerns, the ravioli was swiftly taken away only to be returned—half-eaten and reheated in a microwave. By then, our appetite was gone. While the waiter was half heartedly apologetic, the token offer to remove the ravioli from the bill was undermined by unexpected charges for “complimentary” water and a €2-per-person table surcharge. Hoping for resolution, we asked to speak with the manager, only to be met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and condescension. Our complaints were brushed aside and we were still charged the full (and vastly overpriced) bill. In the end, the only redeeming features were the view and the wine—things entirely beyond the restaurant’s control. Everything else felt cheap, careless, and exploitative. To call it a tourist trap would be generous. I recommend this place to those more interested in glorifying their Instagram feed than enjoying a good meal—if likes matter more than flavor or service, this is the...
Read moreLovely lunch, if you enjoy being tucked away like yesterday’s parsley.
I’m usually far too busy (and polite) to leave reviews, but my experience today felt… educational—and sharing is caring, right?
Arrived solo at 1:30 pm to a dining room that was, let’s say, generously ventilated by empty tables. The manager greeted me with the enthusiasm of a bouncer at closing time and insisted the dim, wobbling two-top by the service door was “the best spot” for me. How comforting! I always appreciate it when someone I’ve never met decides what I deserve at first glance. (Note to management: appearances don’t always correlate with spending power—just a wild thought.)
The food? Adequate. Nothing I’d rush home to write poetry about, but it did its job. The real star was my waitress, who delivered every plate with warmth and genuine hospitality—a bright contrast to the seating policies dreamed up at the front.
Sadly, exceptional table service can’t erase the aftertaste of being mis-seated like a forgotten coat. No tip was left, purely in honor of the manager’s farsighted table-choosing vision. Perhaps he can use the savings to treat himself to a refresher course in guest relations.
To sum up: come for the competent cuisine and stellar waitstaff—just be prepared to negotiate for a seat that isn’t...
