Lookout, there's a new pizzeria on Rota! Made in South serves up pizza and other dishes from Naples with influences from New York and London where the owner has also worked. The pizza was delicious with crunchy edges. The stuffed zucchini appetizer was very tasty. We finished off our meal with two wonderfully scrumptious desserts. The chocolate souffle was moist and warm, topped with a scoop of ice cream. The bombolonis (like donut holes) were drizzled with chocolate and sugar. Neither dessert was too sweet and both were generous serving sizes. The presentation of the desert plates was outstanding and reminiscent of higher end restaurants. The quality and portion sizes are a good value for the reasonable prices. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed. A little background: This restaurant just opened at the end of July. Antonio and Irina (the owners) are very outgoing and have cheerful personalities which makes then easy to talk to. He is from Naples, Italy, so he knows how to make good pizza. Between the two of them, they speak English, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian, and Russian. The staff are all courteous and very responsive to the customers. I believe all speak Spanish and English. Made in South accepts credit cards. They also have takeout. Note: They are changing up the menu and reducing the number of items for now, but they will still have a good variety and will start having daily specialty dishes. F B: 2RetireesOverseas I G:...

Once we received the menus, there was another wait due to limited staff and a sudden influx of guests inside. However, the food itself was impressive. The Chicken Caesar Salad was generously portioned without being overwhelming, and the flavors were well-balanced.
I ordered a Margherita Pizza with chicken and arugula but instead received a pesto-based pizza. Surprisingly, the substitution enhanced the flavors, making for a delicious meal.
My group requested two additional waters and the wine list, but the waters only arrived after we had finished eating, and we never received the wine list. While the food was excellent, the service could be improved to enhance the overall experience.
Would I return? Yes, but hopefully with better staffing and...
Read moreIt's a shame because this truly is the best pizza you'll get in Rota hands down. But the inconsistencies in opening times, and the constantly rotating wait staff and poor customer service have made me reluctant to set foot in here ever again. The quality of service went down when Irina left. I went to get a pizza to go and was told that on weekends you have to make a reservation to order a pizza- so I need to plan in advance when I think I might want a pizza? Got it. They don't answer their phones, and if they do they leave you on hold forever when you try to make an order or query. Getting pizza here is a hassle and a chore. The waiters are slow and seem afraid or bullied and they talk about you in front of you like you're not there. Good news though, a new Neopolotan pizzeria is opening next to La Maceta in August- hopefully they have good pizza and good business sense to not run their establishment...
