Só Caprichos Restaurant — Restaurant in Sóller

Used to be a regular but won’t return as the owner doesn’t seem to care about service or attitude. Made a reservation for lunch today as had been several times before and enjoyed the food and service. Today when we sat down, we asked about a lunch menu and the owner told us that he used to do a menu but no longer as he has so many clients now. If you don’t have time to serve a patron properly you should not accept the reservation. Also, for this price, you would expect would expect a very good friendly service. Today our waiter was very rushed and impatient with us and really seemed more focused on other tables. After we encountered the service, we left immediately as it was clear they did not want us there. We live in the area and used to recommend this restaurant but will no longer. On the upside, we found a much better one with good service and even better food! Look for my review! A really delightful restaurant. I enjoyed the food so much I made a return visit very quickly.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I just rocked up and they found me a table quickly and quickly provided some drinks and a menu.

The menu has a wide variety, I was mainly interested in the sea food.

The mussels in the coconut and curry was simply delicious. I could eat it all night. Really well cooked and presented.

This was followed by the seafood risotto with black squid ink. It was very black! Delicious and highly recommended. Don’t wear a white shirt if you plan to have this dish.

On my return visit I had to try the Tagliatelle and 1/2 lobster. I was not disappointed. Highly recommended. I slightly preferred the risotto.

Staff were great and seemed to cope with the volume of guests.

If you want to dine here in the evening I would suggest making a reservation.

So we arrived 20 mins early but our table was ready anyway, we have our drinks order taken and are promptly served and told we would be able to order at our original booked time....fine by us.

Unfortunately the menus never arrive, when we ask for the menus we are told they have run out. Other tables are given theirs and time goes by further, after asking again we get menus half an hour after our booked time. We then have to try very hard to grab somone to order. The food then arrived a fair time later and to be fair it was all very good, best steak I had on the island. Such a shame about the service.

Having read other reviews I wonder if the kitchen is at capacity and delaying menus/service just about keeps it ticking over and allows them to ram more...
