Had a phenomenal meal at Baobar this evening.
The service was gr999999 - we reserved a table after asking about the availability of World Cup streaming services and when we arrived we found that we had the best seats in the house with a great view of their flatscreen. The waiter was kind enough to offer to speak English to us and subsequently nice enough to allow us to practice our Spanish ♥️♥️
For starters we ordered the roasted vegetables which were pleasantly seasoned and perfectly cooked. Nothing much to say about them but we did make a fun smiley face with the vegetables that we enjoyed LOL
Our main course was the tomahawk. It was a bit on the pricier side of the menu (which is obviously expected) and it was definitely…. An experience for us. Admittedly we had never had to cook our own meat on a hot plate before so we did mess up some of the pieces and we were too embarrassed to ask how to do it properly. But even so, the meat was delectable and we had a blast.
We finished with their apple tart which was nice and sweet, balanced out with their pistachio ice cream. If I had any complaints throughout the meal, it would be in this area where I felt that the apple pie would have been much nicer heated up to contrast the ice cream!
All in all, it was an excellent meal with even better service. I worry that we may have been a bit boisterous in our impassioned states as we watched England lose, so I hope we weren’t too much of a handful for the stellar staff. He greeted us with a welcoming smile and took the time to explain the menu options, highlighting the signature steaks and offering recommendations based on our preferences. He definitely knew different cuts and cooking techniques.
As we placed our orders, their timing was impeccable, and they made sure to check on us regularly without being intrusive and ensuring we had everything we needed.
The 1.5 kilo Tomahawk steak we ordered was exceptional—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. It was evident that Jorge and his team take great care in sourcing high-quality ingredients and executing their dishes to perfection.
The atmosphere of the steakhouse was cozy and inviting, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating.

Read moreMi experiencia en el restaurante fue sumamente decepcionante. Después de haber escuchado buenos comentarios sobre el lugar, decidimos probar su famoso t-bone. Sin embargo, desde el principio, la visita se tornó en una serie de desaciertos.
Pedimos el t-bone de 1.300g, y aunque sabíamos que parte de ese peso se perdería en el hueso y el proceso de cocinado,teniendo en cuenta que el camarero nos dijo que el hueso solo pesaba 100/150g y que por cabeza tendríamos 500 g de carne por cabeza, nos sorprendió la cantidad tan reducida de carne que finalmente llegó a nuestra mesa, apenas unos 600 gramos. Esto nos dejó con una sensación de estafa y nos hizo cuestionar si valía la pena el alto precio que pagamos.
El problema con la pizza, la pedimos sin cebolla debido a una preferencia personal, pero para nuestra sorpresa, nos la sirvieron con cebolla. Cuando la corrigieron y la trajeron nuevamente, la masa estaba sin hacer y el sabor dejaba mucho que desear.
Los precios también resultaron una gran decepción. La cuenta final ascendió a más de 105 euros, una suma que no se correspondía en absoluto con la calidad y cantidad de la comida que recibimos. Nos sentimos estafados, pues esperábamos disfrutar de una experiencia gastronómica memorable por ese precio.
Además, el trato del camarero fue poco profesional y desconsiderado. Cuando le expresamos nuestra insatisfacción con la cantidad de carne en el t-bone, respondió con burlas, diciendo que no llevaba una báscula encima para pesar la carne antes de cocinarla. Esto nos hizo sentir incómodos y desvalorizados como clientes.
Por si fuera poco, al día siguiente, experimenté malestar estomacal y acabé en el hospital con una vía. Aunque no puedo afirmar con certeza que la comida del restaurante fue la causa directa, la coincidencia es preocupante y no descarto la posibilidad de que la higiene o la calidad de los ingredientes hayan sido un factor.
En resumen, nuestra visita al restaurante fue muy decepcionante en todos los aspectos. La falta de sinceridad en la cantidad de carne servida, la incorrecta preparación de la pizza, los altos precios sin justificación, el trato expectativas, pero terminó siendo una experiencia desagradable...
