Absolutely terrific experience at Don Quijote language school in Salamanca! First of all, Salamanca, which is easy to reach by train from Madrid, is an extremely charming university city. Fun combination of history and youthful exuberance in a very walkable setting. My personal experience at the DQ school was rewarding and everything that I hoped it would be. During the 4 hours of class each day we had two professors (2 hours with each professor), and they were excellent. The classes were both challenging and fun. I also took advantage of additional 1:1 classes (1 hour per class) with a professor and that helped my Spanish speaking ability and further clarified grammar topics that we covered during the classes. Overall, it was clear that the professors cared about the craft of teaching Spanish and the students themselves on a personal level. In addition to the classes, DQ had almost daily cultural events (all in Spanish) that really helped to get to know Salamanca more in-depth and Spanish culture and history in general. It was also a great experience getting to know the other students in the group and enjoying the DQ café that is attached to the school. In conclusion, I enjoyed the experience so much that I plan to repeat it...
Read moreI am a Spanish teacher from Hong Kong, and last month, I brought 20 primary school students to Salamanca to attend a one-week course at Don Quijote. I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful experience we had.
The language school offered an array of cultural activities, including a day tour to Segovia, a city tour of Salamanca, a Tapas dinner, and a visit to the Convento San Esteban. Both the students and my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed these activities.
Additionally, the teachers and staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with all kinds of support and arrangements. The student center in Plaza Mayor also recommended many spots and activities for us to enjoy during our stay.
In my opinion, Salamanca is the best place to study Spanish, and Don Quijote is the best language school. Principal Isabel was so kind, telling me that they could tailor-make activities for us. I am looking forward to organizing next year’s trip for our students to Salamanca and Don Quijote.
Thank you once again for making our visit...
Read moreWas a great school and the teachers, students, accomodation (host family via the school), and the city were amazing.
I did the super-intensive which was a really good mix of lesson types. The schedule of classes is a bit brutal, but for two weeks (or even 1-2 months I would think) it was perfectly manageable and a good way to learn a lot quickly.
My only caution is that Salamanca was a very hot city (23/6-05/07 2025) and the heat really dictated my day. I think the whole of Spain was fairly hot over this period, and I was lucky to be mostly in air conditioned classrooms.
All in all I would happily study again at Don Quijote and consider my study trip a...
