Mei Wei Yuan — Restaurant in Salamanca

We ate here the day before yesterday and 9 hours later we were violently ill! First of all, the "menu" is not clear as to what the dishes contain, so I would not recommend this place to vegans or vegetarians. Even the tofu dish and the eggplant dish we ordered had meat in the sauce! We try to avoid eating meat when possible and Asian restaurants usually have plenty of options. But here, even the dumplings and wonton did not have vegetarian versions - all meat-filled. Despite this, things were tasty and interesting compared to other Chinese places we've been to, and the other patrons were all Chinese (at least they were not communicating with the waitress in Spanish or English) - these are usually good signs. Yet here we are two days later and our stomachs have still not...

The food is great BUT the service could not be any worse. It starts by you getting yelled at just for walking in and asking if they are open WHEN it’s opening hours but all the lights are off but the door is open. She is very impatient, rude and very short with you if you ask ANY questions BUT the main thing that we felt a one star may even be too much is that YOU WILL BE OVER CHARGED EVERY TIME for something. It may only be for non Spanish/Chinese speakers but SHE WILL OVER CHARGE YOU. Happened to us twice and another person we spoke to so no need to give our business to such a place. Restaurante de 10, pero escribo un comentario de 1 estrella para defender este restaurante al respecto del comentario anterior que es completamente MENTIRA

Estaba todos los comensales disfrutando su comida en este restaurante cuando se presentó este señor, llegaron a las 14:02 con la reserva de 2 personas a las 13:30. La dueña se lo dijo que ya no le podía servir porque llegaron 30 minutos más tarde y normalmente la reserva se mantiene como mucho 15 minutos. El señor insistió levantando la voz para que se oigan todos los comensales como que fuera él era el q tenía razón. Gritaba “te he llamado para cancelar la reserva??” “No te he dicho que la canceles!!!” La dueña se defendió pero también insistía y no le serviría, se fue el señor al final.

5 minutos después de su salida, volvió, muy enfadado, echando la bronca a la dueña, molestando a todos los comensales porque casi gritaba, la dueña se defendía, y yo estaba al punto de levantarme a ayudarla porque se veía q la situación iba calentando. Al final se fue este señor sin comer.

Al respecto a su comentario mentiroso:

Los precios de los platos son muy baratos, y la ración es muy generosa, con la misma calidad y ración en madrid te cobrarán el doble, y encima él está insultando a todos los restaurantes chinos

Era 32 minutos, si me preguntas por qué sé toda la historia y la conversación y las horas exactas, es porque él hablaba súper alto y me molestaba, en el volumen que se escuchaba desde la calle, y me sentaba al lado de ellos.

Encima habían mesas libres, pero estaban reservadas para la gente que llegar a las 14:00-14:15, como debería ser.
