Slow Boat — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

We just left the slow boat restaurant. Food was bland. Not very tasty. Clear as day we asked “ does a drink come with the menu of the day “ and they answered NO Ok we ordered two drinks with menu of the day. Which was reasonable. Then they tried to charge us for a normal menu. Called us liars that we didn’t ask the question. They wanted to charge us full menu prices for EXACTLY what we ordered from the menu of the day. “But they gave us bigger portions “ they said. It left a bad taste in my mouth and it was the first day of the holidays. We won’t go back that’s for sure. They were not very pleasant because we disagreed with the bill. We always leave good tips but they got nothing. But not this time. Trying to overcharge is not right. Avoid. Food bland and trying to overcharge...

Well, what can I say about this place. If it isn't for the dreadful music opposite then it's the bloody food. Nothing was named so you think you're gonna get a chicken ball, yeah I said think..... fish hun fish! Pooey! The sushi was dry and we darent touch the full bodied prawns. The meat is supposedly fresh and can be cooked to order but is sat in warm water as under a heat lamp. We decided against a second sitting as the first put us off. The staff are lovely mind and make you feel so welcome, but if you respect your gut and colonic system I'd leave this place to feast your eyes. Would not return to this venue despite them trying to get us in on a daily basis. Oh and very clean toilets opposite mind, for your sake hope they have a full roll before...

Cannot understand poor reviews. We had a lovely dinner and great evening. They were very busy, with 2 or 3 large parties. Staff were literally running around. But they were always smiling, the food came out hot, and no long waits. I'd not normally have Chinese when away. Try and enjoy all the local food. But had already done canarian cuisine, as well as tapas etc. Having walked passed this place and noting they were always busy, we decided to give it a go. Very happy we did. We did a set menu to avoid having to choose. Everything tasted fresh and home cooked. Nothing out of bottles or cooked from frozen here! You want quantity over quality, go to an all you can eat buffet. You respect what you eat, come here! No...
