We visited this restaurant today for my dad’s 60th birthday — a really special occasion with family visiting from England and myself flying in from Thailand. We were a big group and started the day on the beach. Everything seemed fine at first as we had pre reserved sun beds for €120, but about 30 minutes after ordering drinks, nothing had arrived. My dad went to check and was told they were busy but the drinks were coming — 15 minutes later we asked again and still nothing. I went to ask for a third time, got the same answer, and still no drinks. They eventually arrived almost 50 minutes after our original order, and only after my third follow-up. To make matters worse, we were overcharged for a drink my dad didn’t even have, which he unfortunately paid for without realising at the time.
We had also pre-booked dinner at the same venue. Sadly, the service was just as poor. We had to request every single step — to order drinks, to order food, to get dessert. My mum had pre-ordered a €100 bottle of champagne that was supposed to be on the table when my dad arrived, but it wasn’t there and she had to ask for it. Starter plates weren’t cleared before the mains arrived, so we ended up moving them ourselves.
The only positive was that they did bring out the 60th birthday candles for dessert — however, my mum’s dessert never arrived, and there were no spoons for the ice cream until we asked again.
I requested to speak to the manager, but it seemed he avoided coming over and instead sent two other staff members. One apologised, while the other simply said it was “a busy day” — which I don’t think is an excuse when four staff members were seen polishing cutlery instead of serving guests. On a day like this, the manager should have been out front supporting the staff and ensuring guests were being looked after, but that simply didn’t happen.
This is my family’s fourth year returning to this place, and sadly, it’s the worst it’s ever been. I’ve worked in service before and understand that busy days happen, but that’s exactly when you should have enough staff on to maintain the same standard for every paying customer. We paid full price for a level of service far below expectations.
Such a shame that a restaurant in such a lovely location could have such terrible service. My family had beautiful experiences here, but this time my dad’s milestone birthday was tarnished by disorganisation, slow service, and a lack of care. I rarely write negative reviews, but this was genuinely...
Read moreProfessional attentive staff. Professional attentive staff. Professional attentive staff. I can't say it enough. The food could be mediocre (but it isn't, it's great), but all would be forgiven and 5* still given, because the staff are totally on point, and that is something more rare than rocking horse poop along this area of the Costa del Sol. I have a nut allergy, so when my desert which included vainilla ice-cream with walnuts in it (!) arrived, they quickly whisked it away and prepared an alternative and the shift manager also appeared to ask if all had been remedied to my satisfaction. The playlist is great, and you can still hold a low-key conversation. The setting and seating all adds to a chilled atmosphere. It is not one of the cheaper beach bars, but you get what you pay for and here we got all we should expect from the service industry, and many other businesses could learn from.
Crab and guacamole - seriously good, and slightly different from the norm. Salmon Poke (and I imagine the Tuna as well) - rice cooked perfectly, fully loaded with edamame, avocado, carrots, corn, cucumber, mango, beet, and generous amount of salmon. Mussels in mango and coconut - really on point (this is coming from someone who is not a great fan of mussels) although a little more coconut flavour wouldn't go amiss. I think the photos of the scallops and entrecot speak...
Read moreVisited here the other day and stopped by purely in the very nice look of the place, and it lived up to everything we expected. We didn't book a sun lounger but thankfully there were some available and our party if 5 was helpfully accommodated by the friendly staff. My advice here, book on their website before you go. Loungers were €12 each which is a bit higher than the average in the area but they were superbly comfortable and the sun canopies are large. There is an excellent service to your loungers and drinks are delivered quickly, and in glasses rather than plastics. Nice touch. We then booked in for lunch and it was delicious! Most of us opted for the special burger (€13) as we saw the next tables being delivered and all cooed at how delicious it looked. A large patty with high quality ingredients made it mouth wateringly good! Lots of drinks options including one of the best Bloody Marys (€10) I have ever had! A large beer came in at a reasonable €4. Of course access to the beach was immediate and carpeted (or matted) walkways between the majority of beds meant easy access. Large, clean bathrooms were a high standard and if it were a clue to the regard this place is held in, it was full of locals. A short walk away is Peurto SotoGrande and well worth a visit to soak in the huge yachts and finish off the day at the Hagen...
